I still have some of the original o-rings - they are 2x25mm
... and what 1/2ft-surf do you mean? ;-)

Busy Builders,
Best price on unassembled white NQD hulls so far is $21.50 a piece.
(I think they may have taken off 50c a piece for excluding assembly.)
Plus shipping of course.
MOQ = 6

I should have more info tomorrow.

As far as o-rings go, it really is trial and error, whatever seems to work best for you is good.
I have two different kinds of Kyosho Dudes, Wombarra and Surfcurls and each has a different depth to the loop.
Therefore, I find I like to use a size smaller o-rings for the Dr Curlz Dudes otherwise they are a bit too wobbly for my liking.
I have not any problems with mine cutting on the thread of the 3/16 bolts I am using.
For me, they seem to last twice as long as when I was using plastic pegs.
I do run 'em real hard in some Dude smashing shorebreak like Seb does quite often @ a place called "Sunset Shories" which is the closest beach to my home.
That place is very well known for slammin' hard at the sand and has broken 4 of my Dudes, but Carbo-Dude loves it.
I also often send 'em out in some solid 3 foot surf @ "Greenough" too. (Not just 3 foot faces)
If something is workin' for you in your regular surf conditions stick with it.
If the equipment is not up to it then just keep experimenting until you find the right setup for your surf.
I am continually working on strengthening different aspects of my surfer so I can push him harder or go bigger.
Everything has its limits.
Just go for it and if something breaks make it tougher and try again.

Hey Crew,
Been doin' a bit of research about this Alibaba market place.
John Curlz warned me that some people get scammed on here.
I definately won't be ordering unless I am extremely confident the seller is legit.
There is quite a lot written about how to protect yourself from scammers when trading with Alibaba members.
First thing I have learnt is that the Gold Supplier symbol means nothing so don't be fooled.
Also, never make the payment through Western Union.
Anyway it is all very interesting and it is not all a scam and there is potential for great prices there.

Trying to talk to the Chinese people via email is like talking to Martians.
You ask them a simple question and they seem to only half answer it and leave you still quite uncertain that they even understand what you have asked them.
Their English is all broken up and very unclear.
What a spin out.

Anyone know anything about this toy company?
Chenghai Pengcheng Toy Ind. Co.Ltd.
They seem legit enough.
Can't find any evidence that they are a scam.
If I decide to do business with my contact who claims to be from this company I will be very careful about exactly how the payment is made.
Still researching how to do safe transactions.
Got any good info on this subject Seb? Curlz? Anyone?
I would appreciate your input.

JIMI

I Was Advised By People Who Deal With Mars (China)
That I Should NEVER Pay Them First, and Always Use A Broker...

The Company You refer To REQUIRES Payment First, Direct to Their Bank ???

Ebay Had An Issue JUST TODAY, And You Mates From OZ Will Get A Kick !

I Love UGG Boots, Need A New Pair And Saw Some On The Bay For $35 Shipped...

I Thought it was a scam, asked the seller a question, and Just Today Was Advised
By Ebay It Was A SCAM ...

If It's Too Good To Be True, It Probably Is

China May Ship, Or They May Not, I Just Don't Want The Hassle

Maui,
Cool vid guys.

Seb,
The first 3.2mm to 3.2mm coupler that I ordered has arrived, you know, the one with the grub screws on both ends.
It actually has 4 screws two on either side.
It is 2 or 3mm shorter than the Kyosho ones I have been using.

40 Degrees C for the last 2 days.

I also have some hand made brass single fin rudders for my Kyosho boards coming in the mail from a guy in NSW.

Sea ya.

Talking about steel, brass or aluminium rudders:

I removed my aluminium rudder and mounted the original plastic rudder again!
(The plastic rudder with a 4mm-drilling, not with the original plastic shaft, of course)

I fear that in case of a collision (e.g. with a *****head ;-)) a stiff metal rudder may damage or at least bend/deform the M4-thread, which serves as my rudder shaft.
The flexible plastic rudder will absorb collisions much better and save my rudder shaft.

'Just my 2 cents...

Hi Guys,
Just thought I would give you all a bit of a laugh.
Here is my latest communication with Mars.

Hello Frank or Ivan whoever you are.
This is Jimi Findrix from spend a ****load on RC Surf.
I want to buy 6 **** in white plastic and I want them 100% UNASSEMBLED.
That is NOT GLUED, NOT SCREWED, and NOT STICKERED.
I actually do not believe you can deliver what I want at all.
I will only pay by Paypal or Escrow.
I bet you only accept Western Union don't you?
But if you actually can get me what I want then send me a photo of an UNASSEMBLED WHITE NQD SURFER AND A PRICE and allow me to pay with PayPal.
Can't do it after all can ya?
Thanks
Kyle

Ha Ha Ha
Seems it is not so simple after all SEBSKI bro.
SCAMMERS EVERYWHERE.

Glass this morning but pretty flat and nothing on offer, GOING MAD!!!

Sea Ya.

Alright guys,
Here is the responce.
Hi Kyle,
For sampling of this model is not easy for 6pcs,  we can only supply you 1 pieces.
Yes, you are right, we only accpt Western Union for the sampling.
Let's forget it
Thanks,

Ivan

Ha Ha Ha
I am starting to wonder if the whole Alibaba is just a scam.

Seb, I tried several times to make contact with the sales manager MR Bryant Yeh from Chenghai PengCheng Ind. Co. Ltd.
The company that you put me onto.
He never even responds.
I did get an email frome Grace@toysbase.com and Grace@purchasetoy.com which I am sure you are aware are other fronts for the same company.
Well, Grace tells me she can only get assembled surfers and only accepts payment by Western Union.
If these guys really are the manufacturers of the Surfer then it should not be a problem for them to sell a few in an unassembled condition.

What a load of BS.

It seems it is virtually impossible to source **** from the actual manufacturer, whoever they really are.

Mars sucks and so does Leaky Martian Garbage.
Ha Ha Ha.

Jimi, you might just have to wait for the wombarra crew to start pumping out boards and forget about trying to get assembled or unassembled boards from China.

How did you go with you flexishaft set up?

Hi Seb,
I have not done one yet because the Hexflex couplers are not here yet.
I have one shaft and 5 props here now.
The coupler that did arrive was that one with grub screws, it is a tiny bit shorter than the Kyosho coupler.
It did not fit at first because it is brass and was chrome plated.
I got a 1/8 drill bit and gently shaved out the chrome inside now it fits both motor and flexi end.
I was thinking of trying it in my current board as I think the shaft and coupler will fit in my Kyosho tube that is already n the board.

Yeah Mars is not happening man.

Sea Ya.

Jimi

I have already tested to see,if you got the same shafts from cornwell uk site that seb recommended , the flexi shaft wont fit the kyosho tube because the solid part of the flexi shaft is not long enough. Roughly about 5-10 mm of the flexi end sits inside the kyosho tube.

It is the new model from NQD.
The old ones are finished, no more.
I just found out.
So get into 'em crew.
This is YOUR future RC Surfer????

I definately don't think they could possibly surf.

Ha Ha Ha.
