Hey Curls........... I just bought my 4 year old daughter, 'Cassidy Ray' a baby doll that actually 'swims' by rotating her arms and kicking her legs........maybe !.......LOL ( I'll send the link)...........are you thinking the surfer should 'duck under' as well.........?

Honestly...... don't know about the rest.......but I am more than happy with the static rcSurfer function as it is.......anything more, as Karl mentions, just eventually leads to extra bother in maintenance and repairs = cost !........and the risk of a great session being spoilt by a breakage !

Keep It Simple !

Bro rcSurfer. ...

Maui john
56degree's is way too cool..... I put the heaters on in my cave at 60.... surprised your junk hasn't creeped back up a cavity and dissapeared all together...

Gopro on a stick is a way cool idea for some barrel action but.... thanks for that tip off the iceberg.

Hugh
That red bull ocean bouy is big hey..... its way bigger than my cave.... I wonder if i can use it as a house if it breaks away and floats down my way after the event..

Yeh reckon the $70 rcsurfer is long gone too and was lucky i was sittin down when i checked the price...didn't even bother checkin the postage....

Anyway for those out there that like the rcsurfrider custom thrusters... on the Australian Ebay there is a used twice Mick Fanning replica dude custom board with a bad billy fin and side fin water intakes re-listed for sale now.... 10days to go.

Even though the $500 askin price is a bit steep for me i asked some questions and the seller said it was bought last month for $599 but his 8yr old finds it hard to handle.... it was rinsed off after both sessions but....

I'm tempted to make an offer if it don't sell in 10days but its still a bit exe for me.... just sayin but worth checkin out if your keen.

regards bearcave

$500 for a High performance built Kyosho board with Dude is a good find.
That board looks real clean, and Ed did a nice job on it.
Costs and prices are only going up...

With Redbull coming off another F1 car constructers win this paddle in could be big...  and apart from other pre-requisites them rhino chasers will need some broad shoulders to paddle hey.

Surfcurls
That rcsurfrider board on ebay is a classic yes but did you see the $119.99 free delivery to Australia 1/8th scale rc mosquito class-757 rc surfer listed by vivi-toy...

Looks like an nqd dressed as a mozzie..... guess $70 a few years ago equals $120 now

A couple of things to consider.

it's an Alibaba listing, Some are scams, another thing is its
F.O.B China, so the shipping is charged to the buyer
and I bet it's going to be costly.

Years ago Alibaba had listings for $13 a board
then they wanted a 500 unit minmum order
and shipping was Thousands of dollars
and they wanted the money paid upfront
by wire transfer, Thats a huge red flag ...

Theres an old saying "if it's too good to be true"

Speaking of shipping,

Wondering How Others Travel with or Send their boards by Air.

Sail Dog Packs his in a hard suitcase when he goes to BVI.

MJ makes wood crates to ship.

I cut Foam and then card board encase them.

Any suggestions are encouraged.

Haha Kite you could be right!
Might need another cave to store the minimum order and not sure Bearly There Enterprises has a complaints department big enough to handle all the 'happy' customers if i was to sell them unmodified.... lol.

Surfcurls
yeh good points... i remember you sayin similar about alibaba type sites a while back when jimmi was trying to buy some un-assembled ones.
Yes the old " if its too good to be true it probabaly is " sayin should always be remembered.

The $500 thruster is exe but anyone who buys will have something that works more than once.... even to strip then modify a cheepy chinese up to acceptable level would prob cost more than that anyway....

I think i paid about $60 for my nqd then bought another.... was a cheap starting point when you have never done this before but they are woeful in all areas.....one of them works but everything was eventually replaced or modified except for the steering cable tube... and still modifying or repairing... lol.

Just my opinion but If you can shape and glass its probably better to build one from scratch..... or pay the $500 plus plus to someone who can build and get something that works from day one....

I know many here have discussed the priceing around a good rcsurfer.... Facts are they are hand built, time is money and experience is priceless... at the end of the day you probabaly get more than what you pay for...

Good Points Bear.

Also, boxing is a major hassle, but the most important.
Once I Fit and test run a board it needs to arrive
as intended anywhere on the globe.

Here's a pic of some precious cargo I sent off today.
This is a box, that was boxed in a bigger box with the TX and more stuff.
I overdo the boxing, As I don't want good boards
going bad from shipping ...

I love my Glue gun, works great with foam and cardboard
to help making custom shipping packs.

Yeh surfcurls i hear you regarding transport of precious cargo.

As i have never had to take my boards to a place i can't drive to i can't add much to the os boxing dilemma... . but I do know some baggage handlers are sometimes ****s, breaking the fins on a board or just bad handleing from jealousy or just plain deadshitism makes me wonder the real reasons why real surfboards have demountable fins... oops said enough on that point.

Anyway my thoughts would be...... A solid lockable suitcase that looks like it just has clothes in it.......with custom foam compartments inside like you have done.....and if the foam is not custom fitting the surfer, board or electric stuff, i would add some of that bubble wrap stuff within all the airspaces.... even some bubble wrap between the foam and the sides of the suitcase might help espec when them baggage dudes chuck em from a fair height at any angle into the trolley...

Adding a "break this suitcase and I will hunt you down like a dog and break your face' stickers are only an incentive for said handlers to break your case.
"handle with care" stickers get the same response...

just my thoughts on what i have heard and seen..... regards bearcave
