Park,

Thanks for Thumbs up on the new board. It takes a lot more time to make them than I thought it would.
The One thing a like about it, is I finally have some control over the Supply and Production making the boards in house.
It was difficult to keep supply for the boards coming from Asia, and having to depend on them...

The Electric Screwdriver is a must have.

Hey,Hey,Hey....

Last week I spent Surfing San Clemente with Maui John and his friends...

I missed out on a lot of cool photos since I stripped the mount on my camera.

John gave me some footage shot from his Go Pro at our session at the Strands...

I managed to pull out these photos from the first video file...

Randy's Surfer

A photo of Slash doing his thing...

Poor John...we were just dropping in on him all morning, he was fending us off with a very large stick that his GoPro was mounted on.

I am impressed by the quality of the photos taken from the actual video...opens new possibilities for sure.

Will post more as I go through the rest of the "thrown away" footage...wish I could have saved previous days with InDaTube at State Park...

Last week we were at Lowers Surfing 2-3 foot surf...I noticed a Japanese Photographer with a real nice Canon Lens...I'm a Canon kinda guy so I walked up and introduced myself and handed him one of my cards...saying if I happen to get in the way of your camera will you shoot me a photo or two...

Maui John later noticed a stuck on the side of his $10,000 lens...he was there to photograph a couple Japanese groms that were just tearing it up!

No way was he interested in taking photos of us...commented MJ

Hayato sent me an email today...

Hi,Tom!

This is Hayato,photographer.
I took a super cool pictures on that day!
So, I send these for you.

See you at Lowers again!

Hayato Masuda

Yep...photographers, no matter how jaded or feed up with people asking for photos, cannot help themselves when they find themselves in the presence of a Rc Surfer...

Kite - amazing pics, I love that last one with both surfers.
I wish I could surf with you and MJ!!!

Just seeing if I can upload a pic of my finished board (started earlier in the year on Cana's site). Its 33 inch and running on 4 cells. Water/self right tested but not hasn't been run in the surf yet - hoping to rum with itsFishi when he is up here over Chrissy. Has stayed nice and light using carbon and epoxy and needed around 300gms of lead on keel.
If this pic works I will put up a couple more...

hey Barrels.

I was watchin the progress of your board while on Cana's site...  was known as macca.... always watchin RCU but after Cana's site closed i joined RCU as a proper member so i could speak too...... and with all the negative vibes previously within the sites thought it best I just join as a simple bear... in a cave...

Anyway your board is lookin sweet.... be nice to see how it runs and hope you get some fun with itsfishi over chrissy.... please post some pics and vids of whatever you get.
Btw no offence to 11 times Kelly dude but thinkin you may have to make a "Joel' dude soon hey...

And you other guys showin the pics from the pro pic takers..... yep, only a cameraman knows when to shoot and what is worthy...... well done guys, hope you stay friendly with them visual dudes and post their/your pics often.

Santa is almost here so like YPC says, hope you all have an awesome festive season.

regards bearcave

surfcurls     I checked the photo of the electric screwdriver , LOL , Im going to Walmart today and get one. They sell a small one that runs on AA's. I think it will be perfect. Hey how do you become a east coast distributor for the new board. I think they will do well.

Hey Barrels...........good to see your board complete.....it looks great....love to see more pics of the inside and bottom.
I like the tail shape.........reckon it will style !

I had a 'very keen' persistent buyer, bend my arm to purchase my 'personal Bro' ( every thing has a price)........it was quite a sad moment to part with 'Bro'....... we've had some great sessions together.

Anyways......at least I will go into 2013 now knowing how to build one.......rather than wondering if I could, as at the start of 2012.

Looking back on 2012......its been a really fun and fascinating year - developing my Bro rcSurfer........next year I would like to focus that much more on 'really learning to rip' in the Surf......I have a few exiting moves in mind......

No offence surfcurls couldn't help myself...... lol...... I thank God and Santa none of them perform out of the box.

BTW...... was thinkin for those that can a New Years thought might be a camera guy on the beach taking vid of a GoPro fitted surfer, some GoPro on a stick action, then editing all the visions together and.........

Oops gotta go Santa's reindeer are here ... Hey you with the red nose, get away from my beer... lol.

They sell cooling tubes for the brushed motors...

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXSF3&P=7

so you can use your favorite one...I used to make my own out of soft copper tubing, winding it around the motor by hand. the copper tubing was of greater diameter that what is available retail...so the water flow was greatly inhanced.

note: that rubber coupler made for the smoothest running model I have ever ran...
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMNP1&P=ML

Do not understand why you would want to though?

Brushless is so cheap these days and the maintenance is so much less than the brushed motors...

This is the last one I bought and it runs great!
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=17717

This motor looks real good for the smaller production boards.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__27867__Turnigy_Trackstar_1_10_17_0T_2400KV_Brushless.html

Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas to ALL!

Kitekook Hey thanks for the photo and info. I have a tekin marine water cooled esc. I want to build another board. The esc is used with a brushed motor. I think the size of the tekin will fit great. Check out way the water will flow thru the esc. I will run a lipo 2 cell battery. Happy new year!
