Wow that rubber couple looks great. I check out towers page. I never knew that made something like that. The rubber will flex. Do you think it will last for a while. I bet it will.

Aloha from Maui,

Working various film shoots & preparing all for Red Bull contest has kept me away from rc surfing for nearly 2 months now.
Today I got 2 battery packs in with Silver Surfer in Paia Bay in 4ft-6ft waves - my surfing is slightly rusty after having spent toooo much time working!
Waves are supposed to pick up to 25ft Sunday - hope to get a few rides in early before filming over the next few days.
Here's hoping you all get some great waves at end of 2012 & begin 2013.

Hugh

Saw some videos of Skowski on the utube and had to buy one.  I found the surfer girl from Hobbytron for $50 shipped with all the coupon codes.  I am working my way through the 300 pages of posts.  I figure I will replace the motor/esc/radio when I get a chance.  Will it run okay before all the mods?  Cold where I live, but hope to get it out when the postman brings it.  I live inland so I will have to do my surfing wake style.

hey Digg

Just my opinion but best to have a starting point before doing anything reccommend you run it stock a few times on flat water then do the wake... reading all the pages will take a while too.
Once  aware of the woeful stock performance and leaky hull/lisa construction, but still keen.... be aware you will eventually have to spend much time and money to modify/change everything.
Btw the wake of a boat will suck the power unlike the waves... wakeboard style jumping wake to wake could be interesting but

all the best

Hey Bearcave - Happy new year to you and the family!

2013 will be an interesting one in many ways - for all Globally !

I received a very cool mail from one of my clients this morning, who took a surf holiday up the East Coast close to Plettenberg Bay. ( J Bay area)
( 16k = $ 2000)

Hi Dominic,

Well bro........ Talk is cheap bannanas cost money!

I could have sold 5 yesterday..... Highest offer for bro R16k, a couple from California.

So definately a market. We should go into business?

Bro survived and epic session at Roggebaai. Big surf, clean waves.
He is rock solid and can take a hammering! He also survived massive air!!! Very impressed!

I was like the " piedpiper" ...... More crowds than the Gunston 500!

So another session on the cards for later.

Thanks again.

When do we start production .....

Regards

David Pratt

Happy New Years to All!

Work finally tapered off and we have a sweet swell hitting SoCal...

Charged all my batteries and headed to WindanSea....got there around 10ish...been so cold early in the mornings.

It started off pretty nice.

Yep, got the helmet cam fixed....at least for now...we'll have to see how the repair goes. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it finally broke...I backed up all my photos from 2012....187 GB!!!!

It didn't stay this nice for long...

Soon it was a dishwasher, so we moved up the street after the second battery.

I have always wanted to Surf here at The Cove in La Jolla. It can get HUGE here and so close to shore...I have seen photos of 20+ ....not today, sorry

Sometimes the Surf give you the courage to try anyways.

It wasn't so bad...just had to beach it between the Jagged rocks

Ran into a couple photographers with those big white lenses...gave out my card hopefully they come through with some photos...I missed a lot of shots today with the helmet cam...unlucky today I guess...

Good Surf again on tap for tomorrow...repairs are all done and the batteries are charging...

See you in the Surf!

Just got these in an email from one of the photographers I was telling you about....

Scott Beard photography....Thank You!

Slash took some head tramua at WindanSea on the second battery...a local Grom, who witnessed the carnage, said if Slash were humanoid...he would have broken his neck!

But that abuse did not end our day...I did have to shape a new head this evening though.

We moved up to La Jolla Cove for batteries 3 and 4....here we met Scott and that beautiful White Lens...

For sure the biggest Surf we have been in all year!

Now...I don't remember it being this close...this is what Scott's Canon saw....

as I peeled off to give way...

Scott cropped the picture to give effect...

and finally, I am off the back...

That was Close!

Thanks again Scott!

Hey Kite.

Awesome pics via kitecam and mattcannon. Big waves hey yeh but the pic of no-head slash is priceless.... looks like a mutant frog dude lookin back spittin sand sayin "omg who the hell ripped off my face and omg where is my toungue" LOL

YPC.... yeh new year lookin good thanks for the wishes same back. Talkin bannanas reckon up to $2000US is a fair price for an RTR bulletproof Bro, as it should be for all you guys doin the custom builds.

maui john..... if green flash doesn't perform as you expect i know you will fix it and yes Seb's best of 2010 is one of the best vids i've seen of what can be acheived with a modified mass produced board.

So much to do so little time wish i had a money tree in the back yard. Regards bear in cave without a tree just weeds.
Crap weeds and crap grass ok not real weed... lol

Sebs Video Is Great, But More Of An Air Show, than surfing waves. Just my take lol...

For a board at $2000 That's awesome If you have the $$$
If Not, Seek To Build your own with The MJ DVD or search the web for less $ and better performance ...

Hey Curls

It seems, for some folk, simply making the Dollars it cost to purchase a good custom board is far easier than trying to make one.........even I was surprised !- but hey- I'm not complaining...........LOL
All the best for 2013
