Sea Spirits, G'day from W. A.

Bob and I got 3 hours of small but perfect waves peelin' @ "Point Moore" this morning.
I should have a few pics to show later on.
Not sure if he took any video but he probably did.
He reckons he wants to make an RC Surf movie.
Bob is a doer, so the idea sound good to me.
I'm in.

A couple of months ago I mention Luke, a local RC car enthusiast who had been watching me doin' my thing out front of his house @ "St. Georges"  & "Stockfence".
On the way home from the surf I called in to see how his Venom board was coming along.
It was in pieces and the hull is seperated.
He had decided not to bother with it and said I could have it.
Needs a bit of cleaning up.
But I do have a spare radio, servo, motor and Dude ready to fit to it, just need an ESC and propshaft..

John @ YOU ALL KNOW WHERE!
Thanks for the email you sent today.
I thought it was pretty cool!!!
I will be making my next order very soon.
Bob lost my "Radio Waves" vid, I left it in his car for him to watch when we went to "Bowes River" a while back.
Now he can't find it so I need to buy a new copy ASAP.
I am really missing watching Spencer carvin'.
That video really captures the Spirit of RC Surfing.
IT IS MAGIC.....

OK John I just wanna say,.
Your not really a kook bro,
and you do have a few good reasons why  you can't surf very often these days
but I gotta ask, "Do you know a left from a right???"
Just jokin' Dude.
Be Happy.
After all, your the one with the Magic Spell.

Sea Ya.

Comedy, I Hope You Liked It,

The Blank Disc ? Hmm An Idea, But Dave Reese Would Not Be Happy With Me.

One Note: RC Surfing Shouldn't Be Just For Real Surfers...

Look At RC Planes, Should everyone be an Experienced Pilot
To Enjoy Learning To Fly One ? Thats A Point. A Right Point Like RINCON Cali

I Have RC Planes Too, That Don't Need A Surf Break To Run, But It Seems
They Have Collected More Dust Than Flight Time.

Surfer Crew,
"Point Moore" was great fun again this morning.
A bit bigger than yesterday and very light offshore.
Got some sick waves but a shame Bob was not around.

Here are a couple more from yesterday.

DR Curlz,

I reckon anyone who can successfully operate an RC surfer of any description in decent waves is a SURFER.

KINDA???

and

Why are my photos coming out so big?
I just want them small like the first ones.
Stupid computer. (Operator)

Maui John,
Luckily, most of the time my Dude is the only one out.
So I don't have too many problems.
I usually hit it at dawn.
I have crashed into a mates kid while he was riding a wave a "Greenough".
Smashed a Dudes leg and lost an arm. (Curlzy sent me another arm)

No I did not test the Kyosho thruster yet.
It is close, I had it there yesterday but time ran out and the NQD was runnin' really good.

Crew,

Bob and I went lookin' this mornin' but not much on offer.
We did run 3 frustrating packs in very poor surf conditions.
Despite my frustration, Bob had a bit of fun as you can see.

Surfer Rainer,

This one is for you buddy.
Another from yesterday @ "Mahomets".
Bob is experimenting with his new toy.

Got some nice clean waves this morning at "Point Moore" but only tiny.
Had to stop after 4 packs 'cause the weed was moving in.

Maui Crew, Surfs up eh??? 20 foot on the North Shore, how big will it be at your main RC Surf spots? I can't wait to see the video. The Venom board I was given a few days ago is sealed up again now. Pumped a ton of silicon around the inside. Epoxied over the rails. Now I am gonna harden the tail and install the tube. Should be ready for paint by the weekend. I have already got all the electronics ready to go in. It was cool to finally get one with the hull seperated. I had a good look around for potential leaky spots. Besides the rails the main place that can leak into the hull is the rudder shaft tube. The holes under the plastic posts and motor mount screws also go right through. They are all sealed up good so this baby should be a bit more watertight now. I think I will be doing all my NQD hulls like that in the future. I did not add any extra ballast because I am just using 74g under the motor now and that is with a heavy CF Dude. No self righting issues to worry about so no need for more. Oh man, I can't wait to see your next videos, they are gonna be insane. JIMI (Gero - W. A.)

****,

Well, I did get some"Moore" perfection this morning.
Double overhead for the Dude and peeling.
The weed is piled up on the beach and the water is clean.
Best day I have had there so far.
It will just get better and better over the next month or 2, it is always good this time of year.

It is great having a miniature point break that is offshore when everywhere else is messy.
No closeouts or soup to navigate.
It breaks about 30 - 40 feet out then rolls in about half way, and as it gets close to shore it starts walling right up and barrelling.

I get him about as slotted as you can with these boards, wish they would tube ride better though.
Other than good driving skill and timing I can't really see any way of improving that aspect.

Awesome fun!!!
