Alright well I finally have time to get some pics up of my progress. The plane was actually at the Toledo show for the week so i wasnt able to work on it but here are pics of what i got done before it left. I got the rudder glued on, the only gluing I have done on the entire plane. I also installed the 2 5955's in the tail and got there linkage hooked up. This should work well and will provide plenty of rudder authority.

Any new progress on this plane? Also, will it ever be offered in any other scheme?

mount the cowl, measure the distance fron the engine firewall to the front of the cowl and add 1/8" for spinner spacing. Write that number down, the measure the length of the engine and subtract that number from the number you wrote down. The result is the required length for the standoffs.

Well since schools been winding down i've had more time to work on this thing. I got the batteries and reciever in along with the tank. Im using 2 5200mah Fromeco batteries along with a single 2600mah for the ignition. I'm running a single JR R2000 reciever. The tank is the 50oz that came with the plane and I used all of the stock hardware for the tank. The velcro straps are included as well.

I took the cowl apart and mounted the bottom half. You can see how well the baffeling has been installed as well as how well the mounting has been done. Each screw goes through a ply rienforcement block and into a blindnut. This setup is very strong and does not add much weight to the overall cowl. You can also see the lip that the cowl sits on this was all done out of the box, the only thing I have done is unbolt the top from the bottom.

Here guys,

I test fly my 42% QB 260 yesterday and thought that I'd give a quick report. Just as Marks, my airplane came out dead on CG wise at 4 1/4" inches. I'm running the same setup as Mark with the expection that I'm running three servos per Ailerons. I have'nt weighed it yet, but I can tell you that it feels about the same weight as my Dalton with is 37.4 pounds. I'm guessing 38lbs, but I'll get a hard number soon.

The airplane went together without a hitch, as per Aeroworks plans. I really like the Aileron setup instruction when running three per wing. AW tell you to connect the inboard control to the bottom hole on the horn, the middle the middle hole, and the outboard the top hole. Using this setup provide for great geometry, and minium programming. Very impressed witht the thought that went into the instructions! Everything fit excellent in this kit. I didn't have to change or adjust anything. I would suggest that when you recieve your kit that you bolt the hatch to the airplane anytime you are not working on it. Otherwise as the airplanes wood dries with the hatch off, it'll result in a very snug, tight fit when you replace the hatch. Leaving in on all the time until it the airplane dries good insures a good fit. The wing tube fit wasreally tight due to the tube being carbon fiber, and the sleeve glass. It required a little sanding, but nothing hard. I've been told that this has only been an issue with a few kits.

To the flying!! Just let me state that after one day of flying, it will now be my competition IMAC machine!!! What a great flying airplane! It rolls better than any airplane that I have ever flown. This is a very, very, very impressive airplane, espically considering its an ARF, and priced very reasonably! The airplane flies like an airplane should with no weird tendencies. It's rolls are unbelievable, it's snap super precise, start and stop now!, it's roller very easy with no wondering. This is the airplane that I have been looking for to compete with.

Bear in mind that with Aeroworks recommanded CG, you'll find that the airplane is actually too nose heavy, but I understand from a company standpoint that they must err toword the safe side here.

As far as mixing goes, I have no more than 4% anywhere even with the airplane more than a little nose heavy. All the mixing that I have would be required of a nose heavy airplane, so Iexcept to have very little mixing once I get the CG right.

For all you guys setting on the fence, you can get off on this side because you CAN NOT go wrong with the airplane. WHAT a value!! For those of you that are IMAC flies, stay on the fenceor get off on the otherside, becauset his airplane will make you a better pilot, and I don't need the competition!!

My other, new airplane is now offical for sale, listed here on RCU. Someone buy it so I can order another QB 42%!!!
