I was thinking of upgrading my current RS4 3 18SS engine with the O.S. .18 CV-RX w/11J Rotary Carb engine.

Will the HPI Roto Start 2 System Nitro Star 12/15/18's backplate that I currently have on my 18SS engine, fit on the above engine?

Thanks

with the os 18 cv-rx, you dont need a roto start, it will start super easy for you without it, but i think that will fit, not sure but i think i ahve heard of pepople using a duratrax backplate

I'm guessing you've already tried the 18 CV-RX and you're very happy with it? Good choice for the RS4 right?

yes i have had the 18 cv-rx, its very easy to tune, and starts even if your needles are way off, runs very strong and very reliable, if you cant start an OS then you probably shouldnt get a nitro

the HPI rotostart backplate should fit, ive read it somewhere. I had a look at the measurements of the backplate holes aswell and they match. I think i saw it on the OS .18 CV-RX on towerhobbies, it said the hpi rotostart backplate will fit straight in

yeah hpi's back plate wont fit. The pull start is smaller then the back plate. the roto start its self is good tho. personaly i would just skip the roto start. its just more crap you have to bring when you want to run your car. And plus ur gonna need a battery for the starter and it seems like you can never drain the battery fully from using it with the roto start, but you get to these points where its not putting out "anuff" power to start the car.

Pull start should be fine
