Need to schedule for the FAA exam for PPL and looking for some input please (did lots of readings and ground school)
- how many questions are and in what time?
- are the questions equal from all the subjects or more from a specific topic?
- many questions have the "see pic" in the study book. What about the real exam?
- what can you bring into the exam room?

Suggest you punch into Google and type in Private Pilot Practice Exam and then do the same with the FAA website. You will find all of your questions answered there. Norm

The gleim study books and most others like them are the exact FAA test. You will get a sample of questions from those in the book. Take your E6b, calculator, pencils and plotter. Everything else is in the book.

I think mine lasted about 25 minutes, but that was 16 years ago so I don't remember. Seems like you should be talking to some of the other students and instructors where you are learning. They can tell you everything there is to know about it. That and all the answers to your question should be right in the first pages of your study guide.

right on I'll be taking mine in about a week. Just finished my cross coutry stuff. this just keeps getting better

The written is 60 questions from a pool of 300 and something and you get 2.5 hours to do it.

AS said bring an eb-6 flight computer, plotter a couple pencils and a simple calculator. The figure book FAA-ct-8080-2e is a the standard, its what was given to me to study with and is the same book you'll be given to take the test, if you have one now don't bring yours withyou, you'll have to use there's, obviouly, since you could of put notes in yours.

I don't know how far along you are on your flight training but if you haven't been informed; if you get a marginal score on your written your oral exam is going to be a lengthy pita, but if you get a good score on your written the oral will be a peice of cake.

goos luck to ya

Have read the "Private Pilot Handbook" by Guided Flight Discovery from cover to cover and did ALL questions from "Private Pilot-FAA Knowledge Test" by Gleim's. Also have completed the 7 weeks/40 hrs ground school at my local base. So far did not take any flight lessons since I am very tight in schedule. Also have taken the 100 questions in the exams4pilots.org about 15 times and my score is 82-87%...stupid...
How may questions are in the real FAA exam 60, 80, 100? Have heard all numbers by now. Are the questions equaly chosen from all the groups or do they select more from one group than the others?
Will take my real FAA exam in about 2-3 weeks when I get 95-100 in the mock exam at exams4pilots.org
