Default Precision Aerobatics Flying Techniques Video

Well, at the promting of some over the last few years, I've done a video DVD.

The title is "Precision Aerobatics Techniques"

Some items recorded during a recent aerobatics seminar:
Wind correction used during loops
Wind correction during cuban 8
Wind correction and positioning during stall turns
Wind position techniques for box management
How to build a maneuver
How to respond to correct a mistake
Energy managment
Thinking ahead; sequence management
To count (or.. not to count)

In also includes a video segment going over from front to back on the Brio:
Pattern plane setup- 1st flight trimming sequence- thrust setup, throttle to rudder mix
Pattern plane setup- color schemes to get better scores
Mixing- all of it- Throttle to rudder, throttle to elevator rudder to elevator, rudder to aileron.

This video was not made to entertain. It is made to instruct and provide tips and techniques- some which are very technical. It covers my philosophy toward pattern, what I've observed from several national and international pilots, and generally say it the way I see it.

If you are interested in ordering a copy-

Send a check, made payable to "Beth Szczur". Cost is $15 plus $3 shipping and handling to cover some of the costs associated with the DVD's, earn enough money to attend several more contest and pay for some club/organization membership dues, and to get on my wife's good side. Send an email to [email protected],for specific ordering instructions.

Depending on how this video is received/succeeds, I may do a follow-on video that is professionally composed and goes into more detail and explanation.

This video is developed with Sportsman and Intermediate pilots in mind. However a lot of the tips and discussions flow into higher classes as well. Sean McMurtry had suggested a magazine article some time ago, but I believe this format is much easier to grasp and absorb.

All the best and good luck!

Don

Possibly one of the smartest ideas recently.
Can you get a web page up and running where we can buy the CD or order a down load over the net. So much easier than waiting for a DVD in the post, dealing with the customs and god knows what.

Ask around for some help Don. If anyone should set up up an F3A teaching site it should be you.
You've always impressed me with your non selfish attitude towards sharing information. Your forum here at RCU is a classic example.
Just comparing to the others. Yours is full of useful help and info... the some others are just plugging their ARF's together with their selfish ego.

Good luck with you project.

Hi Don,

I would like to get a copy of your video also. Any other way to send you the paymant? Maybe you could set up a Paypal account. Also, maybe you can find out how much it would cost to ship to the Philippines. Thanks.

Hi Don, if you can drop some of these off at HobbyHanger as consignments I am sure they would go fast! It would sure help me to be able to rewind you when you are performing a manuver. You make it look real easy, I have watched you fly at the FARM many times. In fact I have your old 33% Laser 200 picked it up from Gene a couple years back.

Here's what it looks like now... if you'd like to take it up again let me kow.

Well if there is enough interest, will go through the process for a professional video which would be widely marketed and distributed, in theory. That is more of an endeavor than a Saturday afternoon in February, to say its in the plans is a possiblity.

Laser 200. Lanier. It was my first giant scale plane. That one was trimmed by Chip Hyde when he lived in MD. First flight yes it ran on glow fuel. Supertigre 6000, then switched to a Quadra 75. Flown at the first Don Lowe Masters, 1996. For your trivia.

Chas,

You need to get a new plane and put the Lazer in a museum...to much history to risk in that one!

Don, great pic of your daughter! She looks like she was unhappy with the last set of unknowns though! lol

If you have any of the Lazer in action I'd like to see thouse too. Interesting thing about the photo with you working on the plane is that the flagpole and the rough are right next to each other back then (I am assuming that is a pic of the FARM club field from way back)

Don,

Is this video pattern or IMAC oriented? Can you bring one for me to your judging seminar next month?

Thanks!

Strictly Pattern. Although, spare the box and centering, its all the same... line, roll, line, radius, line, roll, line, radius...

By the way I guess I should put together a flyer for seminar. Joe's pinecar derby is that morning. I may be late.

Regards,
Don

Send E-mail to Beth at [email protected], I believe. Or [email protected]. Ask for the Pattern CD, "Precison Aerobatics Techiques".
