I want to buy the Accel Hobby Pitts 2SC 40 ARF and went to their website. I called the number listed on the site and it says...disconnected. Does anyone know if Accel Hobby is still in business and selling the Pitts?

You pretty much should be looking for them on Ebay right now. Do a search in the hobby/model airplanes part.

Watch the classifieds on this site, under airplanes then look under profiles. There aren't any listed right now, but if you'll watch, it won't be long.

The phone number listed on Accel's website (773-922-1068) is working.

Wasn't this thread originally about someone getting a Pitts? Did you find one? They're great flying planes.

I liked the Pitts too. I tried to buy one recently, but missed it by about a full day.

Inverts were bad, but I liked everything else. It had the best pinwheel ever, untill the Chinn Yakk came out...

I had 2. The first one, I sold to a friend. The second one, I finally got tired of dumb thumbing it and having to glue the fuse back together every time I went out to fly!

It was fragile, no doubt.

I think we all agreed no more white foam after that one...

Fuselage design has changed a bunch in the last few years. Many are tough as nails now.

I'm sure you get approached.

I do too.

Did Daniel ever tell you he asked me to be a dealer for TMPro? Likely not, but you are not the only one with offers from time to time.

And for OMP, I could not be more proud of that group. Doing the right thing for the right reasons says a bunch about a person.

My birthday was also blessed with watching my daughter at her band competition. Her band was rated as "Superior", and when the chief judge came out to the microphone to give his commentary, he said they were exceptional for a group of 6th and 7th graders. Well, our director had to correct him, as they were 4th and 5th graders. They were awarded first place, and were well praised by the judges.

I also got to watch my club get part it's new runway. I was late because of the competiton. We had a landscaping company out to level and seed. It had been quite bumpy, and the weather has not been good until this past week. We now have a smooth runway coming up.

I also flew. I had the Skeeter 36 out in the park for a while. It was a bit windy for a small plane, but enjoyable.

Then I had to go to work last night...

So, as important as my banter was with you, I didn't exactly use my whole day here...

It was a great day.

Mark, if you have any specific things you want me to do, please say so, even if it is publicly on this forum. I made many mistakes in the past, the biggest being picking the wrong factory to produce airplanes. Sorry but that's water under the bridge now. Now I am just trying to recoup some of the cost of producing those planes. There is no other way to sell these planes other than on eBay. If you have received bad customer service from Accel in the past, I am sorry. Hopefully Accel can do better in the future.

Yes, the designers I have worked with in the past, such as Quicker, have stopped working with me. And I don't blame them, because the quality was not good enough in the past. Right now, I am slowly getting rid of that batch of airplanes. I am not trying to push or promote those airplanes here. I was only answering a question about the Accel phone number.

If you have problems with planes being sold on eBay, please bring the complaint to eBay, or just not participate in those auctions. I am sorry if Accel's bad customer service has hurt you in the past. I am trying to learn from past mistakes.

TT: You are not correct to say I have given up on profiles. The reason why Accel has disappeared from view is because most recent Accel planes were sold through BH. Since BH is now gone, Accel will sell its own airplanes in the future.

Alex

First, sorry about the problems. It is a mistake and I will learn from it.

I was willing to let this go and apologize If I at least was told something like return the totaled planes at buyers expense and return shipping at buyers expense and I'll take care of it but once again no customer service.

If this is what you are looking for, you got it. As soon as you send the airplanes back, you will get your refund. I am sorry I prefer not to send you another airplane since it appears we are not on good terms. Besides that, I will follow exactly as you requested above.

If you got any proof someone paid for an airplane but did not get it, I would like to see it.
