PSI, I will take that challenge. Like I mentioned, we roll to about 40 and see who gets there first. As you can see on Chamos car, the engine isnt even screaming yet and he's making some fast passes. Here is the video of my car, now lets see yours.

He even states the car is doing 80 plus miles. There is not even a radar gun around. Like I said, got to see it to believe it.

Its all a matter of proper gearing and settings, shifting points, clutch engagement, tyres and dialing those 1/8.

Just because I beat one WRX does not mean I will beat all of them at the dragstrip if you catch my drift. The typical stereotype of I beat one Mustang, I beat all of them and next thing you know few days later usually gets spanked. I did not open this can of worms.

Besides; this would be a topic for another thread. This one is about your finalized project which looks real good. How much time did it took you to finish it?

Besides; they could be faster, but the handling characteristics, how these vehicles grip to the road its just amazing. I got a Nitro Mini RS4 which uses the same transmission and differentials as your car, same engine mounts and engine space. Mine has a stinger pipe and is silly. Now that everyone gives approximates, mine I would say its doing 40 to 45 for such a small displacement engine- power to weight ratio. So, literally I can fit your engine in my Nitro Mini... but I would never do it.

I think somewhere on the forum I saw a guy who had a buggy from Miami, maybe its one of your friends, and he says the buggy does around 85mph. So think about it, if a buggy weights almost 7 to 8 pounds vs. a 5 pound Evolva or Serpent with same setup. The Serpents have much better aerodynamics, suspension etc... so, Is it going to go slower than the buggy?

Good morning everybody- I respect other opinions; I hope everybody does at well with mine. I will read replies that follow this one, but will refrain to reply about this subject. Will only post about your car project, details, or if I have questions about your build-up.

Have a good day

Actually the same guy that owns the car on the video that MiamiJato posted, owns an 82MPH buggy but it has a 26 tooth clutch bell along with a 36 tooth spur. I wont discuss on how he did it but its done. I never said that an 1/8 scale could do good high speed run, Im just saying that on a power to weight ratio, the 1/10 scale will have more top end. If you look at the sig. on my post, it says "the addict formerly known as Serpentking". I used the name SerpentKing because I owned quite a few serpents at one time and was using some ridiculous gearing and they still couldnt do what the 1/10 scales can do on the top end.

As far as spending money on engines goes, there only track near here that can accomodate a nice 1/8 scale is about 2-3 hours away and I refuse to drive that far just to hit a track. We do have some nice 1/10 scale track though but Im not interested in that either. I guess you can just call me a speedfreak.

I could not help it after I mention I was not going to bring up the subject. Now you really sound like the typical ricer by stating we roll from 40...

If you guys are going to start bragging about Miami drag races etc you better do it the real way. Dont start like the people who go to PINKS with a "fast" car and then are establishing if and buts. Lets measure a quarter mile in scale and take it from a dead start. I will not agree with a "lets roll from 40", no offense 100, but if you go with that attitude with a "fast" car and tell the WRX guy... I just cant go from the hole because my car needs about one block to race, no way Jose.

Of course there are cars are taken to whatever desert strips to brake world records, but I bet that even a Yugo with a misfiring piston will smoke any of them in a quarter mile. Once again, you want to drag race, do it the real way, no from a roll mumbo deal.

While I think drag racing is a little silly (my opinion and I'm entitled to it ), I wouldn't race against this car in a straight line with any 1/8th. The racer, we have already established, has a big block and tall gearing, plus it's nearly half the weight of the 1/8th. No contest, it will leave a 1/8th standing.

If you race GT-100 be prepared to give him your car. His car is set up for high speed runs it is geared for that you cannot match his gearing in your car so he has the advantage in a drag race that is over along distance..

A drag race is not a long distance. If he wants to go to the Mojave desert to find top speed, be my guest.

For me dragracing is not silly, I go many times here in Infineon Raceway to see the muscle cars shredding 6 and 7 seconds. Everyone has different tastes, so I see the method to the madness.

Like I said before, a quarter mile to scale like the real deal, that is dragracing. I find it silly to wait until someone reaches 40 miles to then start a race and then brag that there car is faster.

Go to the local track and see how its done, real racers who walk the walk know how its done. That ricer attitude of lets race from a roll its just lame. If thats how they race in Miami, IMO, its a waste of time and totally boring. Heads Up, christmas tree style.

you guys hear "top speed" you guys instantly connect it wit drag racing dat's not wat where doing our type of racing is a lil more like racing you would see on the bonneville salt flats, we race long smooth surfaces, 300-400ft, so accelration is not such a major issue as in drag racing.....

I dont remember at any point in any of my post saying that my car is "quicker" than any thing else. There is a difference between quick and top speed. My cars are built for "top speed" NOT to be quick. Lets do this. I run my car against your XR80. We make a 300 foot run and who ever has the most top speed at the end of the 300 foot get the other persons car. Like I mentioned before, I had 1/8scales and they are quick but they are not top speed cars. Read back thru the post and see if I ever said the word "dragracing".

By the way, what you call a waste of time, is what others consider fun. You waste your time and money your way and we'll waste ours our way.

And like so many threads before this one, Im done and thats all I have to say.

Thanks for these awesome kits Miami racers. You guys do it right.

I need your help.
What do I need to successfully hook up the Novarossi 21 GB Plus in my RS4 Racer 2?
I've got together a list from your posts, but still need some help:

1.Novarossi 21 GB Plus Engine
2.Novarossi pipe for above motor.
3.Wolfpack 21 engine mounts for RS4 Racer 2

What else do I need to successfully convert?
4. Recommended Clutch?
5. Recommended FLywheel?

6. Are there Engine Shaft Modifications that need to be done to work with RS4 Racer 2? I know the 21 GB shaft is different.

7.Who makes those turquoise blue gears that you both have on? Which teeth (spur/pinion) do you recommend?

6. Wheels & Tires: Are those Super Nitro RS4 Wheels & tires? Where can I buy those ones you show online, do I need anything else to fit them on the RS4 hex hubs?

8. Do you recommend/run the stock pulleys that the Racer 2 comes with? If not what do I buy.

Manufacturers or links to online sellers would be great!

Thanks,

Scavolini

Scavolini, There is more to these cars than just dropping in an engine. I can tell you a couple of tips but not too many, some are secrets and some are discontinued parts that are nearly impossible to find.

The spur is made by OFNA, if you search towerhobbies by OFNA 37tooth, you will find it. The adaptor that holds the spur hasnt been made by OFNA in over 4 years, so thats one of those nearly impossible to find parts.
The shaft on the motor is a regular SG shaft type, thats one of the reasons the wolfpack mounts are needed.
Alum pulleys are not needed but they do help. GPM, HPI and HG all make them.
I think thats all Im allowed to tell you for now. PM me if you have any questions and I'll help you as much as allowed by the "Racer2 Society" law.
