Hey yall,

I found a Hangar 9 Aspire real cheap and was wondering what your thoughts are on this glider?

I think if it's you first plane, it should do you we'll. Search the forum for mods to add a little beef to the wing joiner if you plan on using a winch. Then again, I might be biased, since it is the plane I got for a great deal to get back into RC. None the less it is a great beginner plane, IMO.

I fly with a guy who has one, and it flies right there with my Gentle Lady. Careful on landing, since its a bit fragile. IF the worst happens, try to remember to pick up every peice, as it can all be pieced back together.

Well I just got it and basically paid nothing for it. It's missing the what I think is the canopy, the piece that covers the motor in front of the wing. Where can I pick this piece up?

The hobby store can probably order it for you. I think mine was $10-$12

I'm also new to gliders an I have an ARF on the way from Tower. I would like to have a larger plane with ailerons and flaps. I would like 118 or more span. Years ago I had a sailplane with 144 inch wing, I loved.
Where can I get a large glider at a reasonable price. Electric power is a must.

Check out Skybench Areotech.com Ray has some good kits that can be modified to electric and spans up to 145 inches.

http://www.espritmodel.com has lots of electrics, give them a call, Zb (thats his name, pronounced Zee Bee) talked to me for quite a while till we settled on a model and power system to fit my needs and budget.

I'll second the sugestion to get with Ray at Sky Bench.
I am just finishing a Big Bird XL. ( one of Sky benches Birds) Health and that four letter word "work" have slowed my building speed down. But the nose tow relelase is in and covering can begin! and I just aquired a Hobby Lobby Telemaster 2000 (72" span) and have installed a nice Diss tow release on the fuse top behind the wing. Had to cut off the tail feathers last night the gentleman who started the kit misaligned it [:@] New piston, sleeve, ring and bearings for the OS 91FX. We should have some towing and cradle launching soon![8D]
