I have uncontrolled body functions when ever I see that Plane. Wonder why?

EJB, as far as the Beaver is concerned, you can't hurt it.

regards, Ward

Make yourself a marking jig, no better way. I make the cuts on a 4 inch table saw. No sanding and the results makes perfect angles...Handing out some trade secrets guys..Hope this helps, Walt

As an engineering lecturer for over 30yrs and a modeller since round about 1947 I didn't expect to learn about building a simple box fuselage. I have a fully kitted out FULL size woodwork shop and I also bought a number of small power tools sold for use by builders of dolls houses. I bought a miniature rise and fall/tilt circular saw - 2"dia blade, a belt sander - 1" belt 3" long, an electric plane that uses a pencil sharpener - helical blade and a number of other miniature "Bohler" tools from Germany, I guess I was a proper know it all.

Suddenly you give me the advice that I have been needing for most of a lifetime. I have used that technique when drawing a mitre etc. but on a drawing board. Thank you very much! I really do hate finding from someone else what I should have already known.

In case you haven't guessed, I will use that technique in future.

Hey Walt,

I just finished building the truss for my 40% 300...your little gizmo is vey clever and works like a charm! Thanks...I blew through those fuse sides very quickly. I do have the little Harbor Freight table saw (and mini chop saw by the way...it rocks also) but I find that using the sanding disc that is incorporated into the side of my Dremel Scroll saw works very well and is super fast. I would say 3 minutes on average from marking to ready to glue! Outstanding! Thanks Again.

Yes Walt if it wasn't because of your gizmo it would have taken Paul four days per truss instead of two.

I cut by hand/eye with a razor saw. Then use a sander I
built to make it just right. I feel more in touch with the
aircraft when I use hand tools.

But what do I know, I'm just a Hammerhead!

Do you use an automatic feed on the X and Y axis on your milling machine or do you do this by hand also. Buzzzz

My mills are actually drill/mills not a true mill with a fixed head.
Everything is hand operated. I wish I had a little CNC mill to
play with.
