Hi Mike, are there any plans to produce a module for EVO's that take advantage of Specktrum or similar technology on the 2.4 GHZ band??

I am very curious about this as well. A friend of mine flies for Futaba and keeps trying to get me to get rid of my EVO, but I really don't want to go back. I don't see a real benefit of switching back other than being able to use DSS technology. It would be great to have a 2.4gHz module for my EVO.

Rumor has it that Multiplex in Germany is working on 2.4Ghz for the EVO but we have no specific info at this time.

Mike.

I hope Multiplex don't drop the ball on this one, I give them a year and if nothing comes out I am selling all my 2 evos and going to what ever is available that works.

Waco, I would guees that MPX will keep on the 2,4 ghz game, as this change also affect the hitec line of products.... we will see

I would hate to see it not happening now that the evos have made some inroads in the Americas

If Multiplex and/or Hitec have plans for a 2.4GHz system, they should announce it now. I have been using my Hitec transmitters since the early 90s, but I plan to switch over to 2.4GHz when the 9-12 channel systems are available this fall.

I would like to get one of the Multiplex radios based on the ones I have seen at my field, but I don't plan on waiting in the hope that one may come out in 2.4GHz if it doesn't get announced SOON.

Beleive me if there were news about this that we could share, it would be known. We know the demand is there so please don't continue to tell us we're missing out. We're also not going to announce something just to make people happy until we have a firm delivery date.

Mike.

Our LHS owner just returned from the Vegas Hobby Show. He said that the 72MHz band is scheduled to be taken over by the FAA, or did he say FCC, in five years. If this is true, we EVO owners need to know what is coming our way. I know that no one can make Multiplex reveal their plans, but it would sure be nice to hear something more than rumors.

Any chance you can verify the 72MHz band being taken away, Mike?

Thanks! Supposedly it was the talk of Futaba and Jr, at the show. Of course, they would enjoy the contoversey created, since they alread have the 2.4 technology.

72 completly gone in 5 yrs, I really Dont see that happening, But I guess it could. I would say they would make Am illegla to have first. then slowly do away with 72. maybe take aways the lower channels first.
