I've never used one but they have a really good reputation. If I remember correctly it makes a good bit of power for it's size. But like I said, no personal experence.

I HAD one in my jammin crt and it had decent power, and decent rpms, nothing i would race but that would raise hell if you put it in a maxx, i decided i wanted more power and put a modded picco .27 in there and it has more then enough power! but thats a heavy truggy, the maxx is lighter (i belive, dont flame me if thats incorrect) and i would buy it, how much are you getting it for and how many gallons did he run through it?

Yep, that would be a big block. The only engine that I'm aware of that's bigger than a .21 and not a big block is the Picco .26 Maxx. And they intentionally made it a mid block to fit the T-Maxx better.

Also no personal experience but id say go for it! Is got a great rep as beingone of the most easy to tune engines onthe market. The T-maxx would be pretty wuick cause its got 2.6 Hp and its a dream not having to fiddle with the needles every day. Hey my HPI S-25 holds a tune for months on end so the XTM must be too easy! And if you dont want it, id go for it $100 with a Picco carb, thats a steal.. For me its either the Axail .28 or some .26, I cant afford to replace my diffs every month

The XTM 24.7 sounds good with 2.6hp but the XTM 457 is even better. Thats the motor im putting in my bb tmaxx and it puts out 3.8hp!!! The 24.7 is a good motor but the XTM 457 is just insane!

The XTM 457 rocks..! Easy to tune and it holds it's tune forever. I have one in my MGT and it is really fast.

Stormerhobbies.com had the 427 for $110 But its sold out, if they dont get it back in stock in a month im getting either the Axial .28, or the STS .28. All killer motors! Go for the the 24.7 dude, its not a total monster but has decent HP and is extremely reliable Tom.

I heard STS .28's are awesome motors, The axial...i have experience with that motor, total POS...Soon as i got it, rust in the crank and bearings...brand new engine has rust? wow, well, a buddy of mine bought it and i bought it from him (new in box) and i ran it after noticing the rust...lost comression after a gallon, total garbage, the power wasnt even that great...garbage, dont waist you money. Stick with the STS .28 or STS .30, another killer motor is the picco .27/.28....very good motor but at 200 bucks...Im running a AB modded picco .27 right now...very good motor!
