The charger does not use Peak detection, just a timer. dr. Sudig is very hard to deal with. Stay away, you have been warned!!

It is a problem. I fly 33-40% Extra's and heli's.

For the past 6 years or so I have been using Alpha 4's. 1 tx, 1 ignition, and 2 rx packs all at the same time. Works perfectly, as a over night peak charger. Sometimes I would charge just 1 pack at the max of 1 amp to get a head start the nights charging. But even at 1 amp, it wasn't enough.

Then I switched to Duralites. Basically same problem just greater run times. When the Duralites became unavailable, back to square one.

Now I am using 2700 nimh packs for the rx's, 1650's for the ignition, and same 1100 nicads for the tx. My charger for the field is a Super Turbo. Only 1 pack at a time, but the charge rate is up to 5 amps and will properly peak a nimh battery. 2700's do not drain quickly and I have 2 in the plane for the receivers. The 1650 does need to be recharged and the tx pack, well I always carried a spare anyway.

End result is that I fast charge at the end of the day 1 pack at a time and the 2700 nimh packs I charge at 2.5-3 amps.

At a cost of $109.00 for the Super Turbo, it is very inexpensive and works perfectly.
