This little engine is a workhorse. Once you get it set up and dialed in youcan just keep on flying.

Well at least you won't have an over-heating problem! See, there IS a good side to everything!!

No, they don't, I was just joking about the temps there. What they do have is great power, easy starts, and reliability. Like Tom says they are a great little workhorse. I'm really pleased with mine. It hovers my 28% WildHare Edge 540T V2 at under 1/3 throttle on a Vess 22A!!!!

Can the ignition on this engine handle the VPX 1100 mah A123 Batts without having to install any diodes to lower the voltage?

Thanks
Dan

I have been using it that way with no ill effects. I have not done any long term testing but the A123s are about the same voltage as a fully charged 5 cell nimh. I believe it will continue to work fine on the VPX cells.

Any good 2 stroke chain saw oil will work fine, like Echo or Homelite. Don't use outboard motor oil, but a good name brand of oil made for an air cooled 2 stroke engine will work fine for break in.

THis is a terrific thread. I just learned of Wildhare from another fellow in a H-9 Extra thread I was in. I had been looking for a 25% Extra 260 that I liked and had not found any so (wouldn't you know it) I ordered in a 27% H-9 Extra 260 yesterday. Now I go into Wild hare, and what a nice 25% 260 you've got there! Pretty. (Makes me sad) The good news is that I had pretty well settled on an EVO 45CC gasser but had not actually ordered it in yet. I came to this thread from the website, I have to say that the 53CC TOC looks almost identical to the EVO engine I had been eyeing, and it certainly has lots of nice features. I've scanned the thread here and read the last four pages solid, and I have to say, the guys really like these engines. I recognize that the guys with probs seem to occupy an inordinate amount of space in most threads, but in this case the enthusiasm of the guys who run them overall seems to come through and really set the climate in here. Nice to see this. I also picked up on the good customer service policy and got it from the pilots, and sawit reinforced from Tom. Anytime something like this can be found, I'm likely to become a fan of it. It's pretty late tonight, but tomorrow I'm going to do some serious research on this and hopefully talk to Tom (Can I do that?) about these engines. Unless I'm missing something, I think this will be THE engine for me. I'm actually sorry I didn't find it in time for the 25% 260...but life ends up being that way.

Tom, do you sell through local Hobby Shops? or Direct only? I like to support my Local shop when I can (But not if it costs me hundreds more.).

Jim

Tom does absolutely talk to all of us regular people Go to the Wild Hare website, www.wildharerc.com, and click on "contact" for the phone number. For the most part Wild Hare is a direct sales company. In doing that he gets to keep the prices down and can provide that one on one customer service you've noted.

Welcome to the family

Hi, Pat, and thanks. I'm looking forward to reading the whole thread in detail. I like the Wild Hare site, very nicely done and he seems to have a good diverse inventory. Really catches my eye.

People are always welcome to call me, but I reserve the right to not answer. If you get the machine leave a message, I always wonder when people call at 11 pm and when I don't answer they hang up.

What were they thinking?
