since you guys have making "anti-NAFTA" noises down "there" (don't want our softwood - OH YEH!!!) , and since most of this year's storms have come from your south, we've begun holding the storms at the border....for every truck held for 12 hours WE hold a storm for 12 inches......LOL..

OR.....

just outside of Holten, to the south, in the woods there, there's a tear in the Time-Space Continuim that causes your storms to shift back to below NY state, then pass and re-pass about 6 times before they actually get out of the area.....

I can send you some Pennzoil for your snow mobile....I have lots...

AHHH!!

I suspected this all along.... thank you for confirming it. I've got the guys working on reconfiguring that forward sensor array as we speak.

Yep, I lead the hollering on anti-NAFTA around here, but Canada has never been any issue to me, just the jobs that move away with the companies like Dexter Shoe, etc. I like Canada, and I like Canadians.

I've solved the cold problem by buying a house in San Antonio, Texas this month. That should do it. In fact, I might as well call the guys off the sensor array, eh?

I KNEW I saw that tear in the space time continuim right around mile marker 273...I just KNEW it..... And they said I was just crazy.....HA!

Jim...good luck on Texas...

Several years ago I went to Carolina to visit my son, coming back it took me three tries to actually make the border.....

We can't get Amsoil up here any easier than Pennzoil.....but then again, with the carton of Pennzoil I now have in the garage, I figure I have enough oil to fly until I'm about 138 years old....and thats not Metric years......

Tom,
I purchased the 87" Sukhoi with the TOC 53 and stock muffler. You have 3 different mufflers listed for the TOC 53: Bisson wraparound, caister/header kit and stock. Being new to the gasser scene can you give me the advantages/disadvantes to each?

Sure.

Stock is very good, light, fits most everything, moderate noise.
Canister is heavier, more expensive, but very quiet and may add a little power.
Bisson wraparound noise same as stock, a little heavier, fits some planes but not those with round cowls, looks better if it fits.

Hello,
I'm working on tuning the TOC 53 from Wild Hare and need a recommendation on a tachometer. I have a Hangar Nine unit but it doesn't seem to be able to give consistent readings especially in the upper ranges.
Thanks
Obee

I've used a GlowBee Intellitach for years now, has always been very satisfactory for me..good one handed operation, nice bright color so I can't lose it at the field

Only use the H-9 tach from the front of the plane. From the back of the prop provides terrible results.

For the Amsoil 100-1 question. It's your engine so you can do what you want with it. If it dies an early death because of a lean oil mix you'll know it wasn't a very good idea. I won't enter the great Amsoil/something else debate but I won't use the stuff at any ratio. Then again, my engines are mine and I can do with them what I want. Mine last a long time.

Well finally...............for those of us who are mathmatically declined, and live in Canada, 32:1 is 125ml oil to 4 liters of gas.......checked and re-checked, lilkely still wrong, BUT...

tied the new extra down to a cinder block (lordy this thing is large) filled the tank..held my breath

ignition off, choke closed, throttle open, three flips had fuel to the carb

ignition on, choke closed, throttle open, three flips and the engine barked

ignition on, choke open, throttle open 1/8, thwo flips and the engine was running...breathed

after warm up the idle was 2290 (will undoubtedly adjust down) [)] , top end was 6800 with a MSC 22x8

played with the throttle a bit then shut it down after about 5 minutes............for now I am estatic.....thank you TOM..

Keep ya'll advised.

That's what we like, by the book. I keep telling people the 3mm engine is a class act.

I really like the 3mm 53cc. My starting procedure is Throttle wide open, choke on, 10 flips, choke off 5 flips, turn on the ignition and fires on first flip. The rest of the day just turn on the ignition and 1 flip and it's running.

I posted the top RPM on my club web site and there are a few guys taking a hard look at that number. Not a 3D powerhouse RPM, but for the first run pretty darn good. I'd expect it to only get better.
