I think that's still a bit low with the 22-8. You may well still be a little side either way of the needle sweet spots.

You're probably right. I'm still waiting for my 22X8 to arrive from TBM. Those guys take forever to ship. I'm getting 6700 on the Vess 22A after about a tank of gas. I think the TBM prop should put me close to 7000. Have to wait to the 17th to find out. I ordered it on the 5th and it shipped the 9th, evidently by pack mule.

Teach you guys to order props from DA or Don's Hobbies. Both of them will get your props to you in a week or less. Usually quite a bit less. My average to date with either of them has been about 3 days. I may save a buck going across county but it sometimes just isn't worth the wait.

I usually go to Abell or Vess but I don't know of anyone that sells TroyBuilt props but TroyBuilt.

I sent Tom an email for mine, NOT BASHING TOM, I know he was getting ready to go to the Toledo show, so he was/is busy.

I believe the TBM props are the same as NX/Bolly props which I believe to be the same as tom's "bunny props"

Nope, they're not. The TBM props are an exact double of a Menz "S", except that the blades are thicker from the hub through the tip. I have all four types, Xoar, Bunny, Menz "S", and TBM. You can lay the TBM on top of the Menz and find no discernable difference in the general shape.

I used my drill guide for the ZDZ twin 80 I have, it is the OPPOSITE pattern from the ZDZ twin 80 as there are 2 patterns on the guide. The guide has 4mm holes and the 53cc 3mm engine needs 5mm holes.
It worked great!

Sounds to me like all one needs to do is drill out the holes in a ZDZ jig to 5mm. Then again, if the outher prop retainer is of a hard enough material you could carefully use it for the jig. After you have drilled a couple of props you can use a prop for the jig if you go slow and confirm the drill alignment. Using another drilled prop is something I do all the time rather than use a jig.

Greg has the information in his post above about the pattern needed.

Finally got the TBM 22X8 in today. Hope to try it out this week. The numbers better be impressive because, in my opinion, the props looks certainly aren't. Rough finish with depressions where the name and size were, evidently, stamped on. Checked it again, they aren't depressions, my mistake, it's raised paint.

You paid for the prop, not esthetics. Should have been a rather dull finish with red painted numbers. MSC's look worse, but perform extremely well. You know the old saying, if it don't go chrome it. With props it's if it don't pull polish it...
