Many people would like to have a low cost, light weight, powerful gas motor to fly 120 sized planes. You get all of the usual benifits of gas, such as clean operation, lower fuel costs and very reliable operation. And as an added plus you can put the tank anywhere you want.

As soon as I get caughtup again I am going to make a new video of the 2300 running on a correct size prop. this weekend if the rain stops.

Status: offline 		Mine turns an APC 13 x 6 at 11,600 rpms. It doesn't have much time on it, so it could improve a bit.

Super Tiger .90 running on Gas/Glow 11,600.5 rpms with an APC 13 x 6.

I just came across this post, I know its been there for a while, but I have a Super Tigre 3250 engine, made in Italy. I bought it at a swap meet and it did not have a carb. I put an ASP .91 carb on it, as this was recommended as a good carb for this engine. I had to make a sleeve for it to make it fit. I am just curious, what is a gas/glow conversion. I do not want to go the gas conversion route, as it seems to complicated. I would rather stick with the costly nitro fuel.

Status: offline 		Well, not exactly. Without converting your Super Tiger to roller bearings on the rod/crankpin, you would need more oil. So it would be a bit of an experiment. The Gas/Glow mix comes out around a 32:1 overall oil mix more or less. The Super Tiger's that have not been converted to roller bearings are recommended to have 10% oil, which is of course, a 10:1 oil mix. I believe some guys here in the forum have run bushed rods as low as 16:1 oil, but one would sure want to be careful about doing that...

BTW, I have a Super Tiger .90 converted with roller bearings, a Walbro carb, and running on Gas/Glow. Works great!

Status: offline 		I ran a ST3000 I converted to gas with a bushed rod on a 20:1 ratio using synthetic oil. Drilled an extra oil hole on the leading edge of the rod with a large chamfer @ the crank pin( have no clue if it really helped, but felt I had to do something). Flew it quite a while until I sold it and the plane. Easy conversion, ran about like my Homey 30cc.

Status: offline 		I couldnt decide if I wanted to use a Quadra 35 on my Stinger or get a carb for the ST 3250 and use it, in spite of the nitro consumption. I felt that the ST 3250 might have a little more power. I have never owned a nitro engine this large, so I have no idea how it will compare to the Quadra 35. I wont be doing any gas conversion to it, since there is too much involved; at least for now. If I dont like the ST, I will switch to the Quadra later on. This Stinger is built like a brick out house, lots of ply. It has some hours on it and it is not a beauty queen, but its the kind of plane you dont mind just having fun with, not worrying about getting a scratch on it.
