Status: offline 		Hehe, I am THE worst person to ask on paint schemes.. I decided on my Tig scheme as the brush touched the tank after staring at 100 pictures for hours. My PzIII is due for camo in the next few days and I'm still undecided!

However, on a quick yahoo image search, these grabbed my eye...

Traditional..




Different..




Very different!..



I rather like the last one, kinda unusual, although I'm not sure how authentic it is.
Hope they inspire you, even if to say "Nope, none of those!", it at least narrows your decision

By the way, how did you make your barrel mantlet? It looks like it's resin? And has a number on top of it?

The barrelmantlet I did by first messuring my 1/35 model and making one correct scaled part of plasticsheet in both ends , then I made three in the middle. After that i filled it out with the gluegun , then I used a knife and made it to the right shape, and finnally I used a lighter to heat up and even the surface ... I had an spare tigerbarrel to begin with so that was a good start , made that barrel to the correct length before I did the mantlet ...
The numbers I made of some brasswire

Anyone knows about numbers and markings on jagdpanther ??

Status: offline 		Hi some more pic on my jagdpanther .... finally got the drivewheel looking good .... remade the idlerwell as well - did not work out as good but its OK.... did also have to make a longer towingcable - about 3centimeters ... had to move the tubelike thing above it a well - had placed it a bit high before ..... anyone knows what that tubelike thing is for ???

I don't think it's a hard pattern to do. You will need the top view, the rear view, and a view showing the other side. The base camouflage job is easy. As for the little tick marks, you could draw one on a piece of heavy paper and cut it out to use as a mask. If the ones on the real tank have soft edges, then hold the mask a few millimeters away from the surface and airbrush through them. Your Jagdpanther is looking very good

The "tubelike thing" served to store inside the barrel cleaning rods. All Panthers and its derivatives had the cilyndical container installed.

Hi Karma!

Sure, I do not know almost nothing about Amis tanks in WW2......
Just have recently stripped my first M26 and am spending all my wired time searching through the web for information about this splendid tank. The different tecnics of couling instead of welding rolled steel the way germans did, gave beautiful rounded forms to the turret and hull of the Pershing.
And last but not least, the roadwheels and suspension of the HL M26 seem to be of far better quality than the delicate Tiger roadwheel suspension. IMHO it's a better model than the HL Tiger, more detailed and accurate. (maybe the HL people were more cautious when molding the TamM26.....hehhehehehe!)

Status: offline 		Hi - I used the Hl panther ( pantiger ) to do the conversion ( the lower hull is the same on panther and tiger so .. ) ... The panther give me the correct tools , the Mg mantlet , the engine deck , part of the rear, and so on

Status: offline 		Hi have now done the painting . I am still waiting for the smoke and sound upgrade ( tank not working at all now ) + metal tracks .... Have to get some markings and some weathering on it next, but im not sure yet what kind of markings im gonna do ...
I think I gonna skip the sideskirts ...

Status: offline 		Thanks - it took me all of yesterday doing it + the basecolor the day before ...and all those dots = forever

Learned something as well - Tamaya colors is esier to use for airbrushing than Humbrol ...
The only thing thats worse with Tamaya it is that you need acrylic thinner for Tamaya , but you can use normal thinner for Humbrol ...

Status: offline 		You can thin Tamiya with distilled water mixed with rubbing alcohol. The alcohol makes the paint flow better and dry quicker. Model Masters Acryl is also as easy, if not easier, to airbrush than Tamiya.

Im trying to make the filling to the smoker separate , because its too hard filling it through the exhaust ...

Status: offline 		Like your work, It's alittle work to do but moving all the switches is the best way to go, the oil fill is nice, now you need a oil gauge so as not to over fill or run empty, I think running out of the oil might be the main reason smokers are burning out.
