Looks like a nice entry level radio. What this shows could be the end of "Crystal based MHz" radios. Radio companies have fought for years to keep the few channels open in the bands but with low end open ISM band radios how much longer will the radio companies spend the time energy, money and effort when they can produce radios like this?

I have an acoms fm 40 mhz 4 channel radio that looks exactly the same as the one pictured here, i bought it a last year on rcmart but they never carried it anymore, i absolutely love it i ended up buying 6 more receivers for it, sold my 3pm and have my hi tech link 3d sitting around collecting dust, the biggest problem with acoms is getting a place to buy them online[&o] , i have searched and can't find my exact radio anywhere, it is a hayabusha technisport model, like i said it's 40 mhz fm and i don't have a problem using it in my country. Any info on where to get one is higly appreciated[8D]

The Hyabusa is sold as Carson/acoms in Germany, and they can often be found cheap at http://www.ebay.de

I haven't seen anymore about the 2.4ghz version, nor has I seen it online since then. List price is € 129 or around US$ 150... and at that price I would rather add a bit more, and get one of the proved brands.

JRexA -> RE: Acoms/Technisport Hayabusa 2-4ghz system anyone?? (6/19/2007 3:55:04 PM)

Now I have seen it at www.conrad.de listed at € 99.90

Have anyone tried this radio yet?

MrChaos -> RE: Acoms/Technisport Hayabusa 2-4ghz system anyone?? (3/29/2008 9:55:34 PM)

Hi I'm using the acoms hayabusa 2,4 GHz on my CEN TR4 onroad car and soon on my HPI savage x 4.1 and even though it's only and 2 channel system transmitter, it's really great, but those who drive traxxas cars with reverse gearbox well they can't use it, but this is the best system that I have ever had, the transmitter is a little bit bigger than other transmitter, but i lighter and lay perfect in you hands.
It's easy to use, and it have all the settings that you need.

Overall : it's a cheap and great solution for those who can't aford a spektrum system or one of the other more expencive systems.

Hope you can read and understand my answer, and I hope that it helps :)

jaws,i bought one of these radios 2 days ago for my sons rush evo.They are or at least mine was a **** to set up the failsafe as timing is everything,one second late and you have missed the setting.appart from that its very good for the money.It has a proper futaba charging socket for the nicads,failsafe(!) atv/steering rates/reverse/looks cool/tiny rx(3ch)/and the servos seem ok and slop free so far.You have to remember this is an expensive radio for me as i am an "ASSAN 2.4GHz" convert for my flying radio.Here the rx 6/7ch are about £11 each from hobby city.

I must confess i am not a car man but my son says it reacts as well if not better than the original 27MHz HPI radio,looks better and is interference free.I really like the charging socket as i was annoyed at HPI when i had to open their new tx and fit my own charging socket.I would sumup and say this radio is above average for a stadium truck/electric sport model..but not for the experts from what i can gather.

ghiro -> RE: Acoms/Technisport Hayabusa 2-4ghz system anyone?? (6/20/2008 12:49:31 PM)

Just got mine an hour ago,got it with 2 extra receivers so i can fit this system to al of my 1/18 cars collection.I'll give it a try this afternoon right after set up the escs and binding receivers. Actually the first impression is good,i'm a big guy with huge hands and the feel is better than my MarsR. I'll use some tennis raquet grip tape to smooth the dumb plastic sensation.

Hesco Racing -> RE: Acoms/Technisport Hayabusa 2-4ghz system anyone?? (6/20/2008 11:50:50 PM)

Can anyone do a range check or does the specs indicate the max range.

jaws1 -> RE: Acoms/Technisport Hayabusa 2-4ghz system anyone?? (7/1/2008 10:34:18 AM)

i have bought it over a month ago and i ve been happy with it, love the receiver as its so small, i have used it on a touring car and there s still plenty of room on the chassis

i have heard two people on other forum that they have problems with it as to rebind it everytime they switch the radio on but thats it,

i was surpriesd after looking at the specs that the reaction speed from transmitter to reciever is 5.5ms which is lighting quick(about the same as spectrum dx3r), sounds like it will suit digital servo, i m gonna try and find the fastest servo as i need it for my touring car

mogi -> RE: Acoms/Technisport Hayabusa 2-4ghz system anyone?? (7/6/2008 8:00:03 AM)

has anybody got a clue how to set the failsafe up as the instructions suck and whatever i do it wont work,cheers

grael -> RE: Acoms/Technisport Hayabusa 2-4ghz system anyone?? (7/16/2008 8:44:07 AM)

My instructions are really poor too.
However, I did figure it out, you just have to take them very literally:

turn tx and rx off
while holding transmitter back button in, turn it on.
release the back button after a few seconds.

hold the receiver button down, and turn the power on.
release the button after a few seconds.

set your throttle and steering positions, and with the other hand, push and release the receiver button.
turn both off.
turn both on.
turn off the transmitter, and check the servos go to fail safe position...

That's how I had to do it, as per the manual, but it does seem a little tooo hard...
Worked for me.

Has anyone tried livening up the other channel on the receiver by tampering inside ?
If you do try, take the transmitter PCB off the main pcb first, and you will see three soldered connections that are only soldered on the side of the pins, and not in regular holes, this is at the rear of the steering wheel. It uses a standard cheap potentiometer, not an encoder, and if you try lift the bottom PCB out without de-soldering this first, you will break the potentiometer (I fixed mine after I saw what had happened.) De-solder it, and you will see the lower board (and the PCB under the steering rate control) have extra microswitch solder positions.... I haven't seen the 4-channel version, but if the same software is used in both chips on the main board... then we should be able to activate the receiver's 3'rd channel.

Remember to solder the potentiometer back up afterwards if you try this !
