ok i heard this story at my LHS, some guy that worked there told me he saw a guy strapping a model rocket to his foam trainer, i forgot wut kind it was, anyway he came up to him and asked him wut he was doing so he told hime he was attempting a JATO (jet assisted take off) well it was all strapped up and he set the plane witht the rocket strapped underneath on the runway, and put the ignitor in the rocket engine and put in the plug he then sat 10 feet to the side of the plane and gave his son the ignition, he then turned on his transmitter and counted down, on 1 the kid hit the ignition sending the trainer flying at 80 mph ripping its wings off because the wings could not the amount thrust created, this engine was an e engine so it went much farther than other other engines, well after the rocket engine expired, the trainer came to a a halt about half a mile away, turns out the plane was fine just needed a new wing but the rocket beneathe was ripped to shreds while the plane was on the ground rolling in excess of 55 mph, again i wasnt there but it was probably a site too see!!!!

o and if it isnt real dont tell us because its always funnier if we believe it.

You do hear the funniest stories at the hobby shops!
A Newb to R/C anything buys his kid a RTR nitro truck. He calls the LHS later complaining that he can't get it started. The employee starts asking the usual questions about needle settings, glow ignitor, etc. and all is going well until he askes what fuel the guy is using. His reply, "87 octane".

Designed, built, and launched by a 6yr old. We modified it a few time ending up with 3 C-6 engines. After a good hundred or so launches and repairs along the way the car was retired to the shelf while still in one pc last fall.
We had lots of fun with it.
