I see that Hitec showed a Gyro and servo for the Trex sized heli's at Nuremberg - spy photo's in the May issue of RC Heli pg. 14.

Does anyone have any information on this Gyro and servo? Specs? Most important, release date? I'm very interested in getting this setup for my Trex!

I haven't been able to confirm delivery or obtain specifications as of this date.

The Gyro looks like it may be OEM'd from Logictech. I think this is a great idea as it adds a layer of support to this Gyro that is currently missing. Also perhaps we can see more than one dealer carry it as Heliproz is the only dealer that I know which carries the LTG-2100.

Any information on the release date and complete specs for the servo (how much does is weigh?) would be great!

Thanks ..John..

Hi John,

Yes, you are correct we are getting these very soon. We will have full support for our 5000 w-digital servo combo which has in incredible .06 transit time. As a 3D pilot and getting to use one for testing, and R&D. Performance is 2-3 times better than the GY-401 that I have been using! Plus it has added features as well, that the 401 doesn't have! This will be one heck of a combo for most 400 size heli's!!

Please read below

We'll also test in:
T-REX 600CF soon!

with my 'collective management' skills I need all the help I can get from the gyro. Get 'em out there! I hope Hitec will be price competitive with the Logictech pricing from HP.

Maybe getting the Gyro first would help, right? Then you could add the servo later, beside the Gyro is built, done! Then have the combo? I think there's a lot of people that would really like to try our GY-5000 Gyro, now? You could change to the digital setting once we get the Micro Digital Servo as an add-on? MMMMM.............

I see a note on rcg that is floating a June release timeframe. I have the funds ready (household CFO approved) so I'm ready to buy. I wrecked my Trex last week and I'm about 75% convinced it was the gyro - tail just kicked around several separate times while in medium speed forward flight. CSM-200. Grandrc has a good deal on the Logictech 2100T but I'd rather have the HG-5000.
Anyway we can get a firmed up release date?

If you need the gyro only the Logictech will work well. The cost is 104.99 from helipros. It's out now. I would really suggest the HS-56 servo for tail rotor with it.

It looks like the combo will be out first with a price tag around 160.00 for both.

The rumor is correct as I was told by the higher up's it should be here around that timeline.

Thanks! - I'm currently using an HS-81 with my CSM-200. That servo seem to work pretty well, though I always got a 20-30 deg. kick on throttle punches. I assume it's the gyro though I'm running the gain right up near the wag limit. Is the HS-56 a better servo than the HS-81 or HS-65 for the tail?

If your getting a kick, try bringing your throttle higher at that point in your throttle curve. On my 450's I'm running pretty high RPM on the head. My throttle is at 100% across the board in my idle up. In normal mode I'm running Trim, 1@-35% 2@80% 3@100% 4@100% 5@100%. this will help take out the kicking and make your heli smoother. Also you'll find out you may used a lot less pitch. When you load the baldes and your heads drops the gyro is working extra hard, so by increasing the headspeed overall you have this kicking problem solved.

I like the HS-56 cause it works well, it's light, bearing supported, and fast! This servo also uses the Karbonite gears. With that, there no play in the gears, and I've never stripped one on the tail.

So is there any news on when the HG5000 combo will be available? Are they shipping to stores yet to meet the "mid-October" estimate?
