OK....Bought the 40 size (55"...or so) P-47 recently....(heard and read all the "Flamin and TRash about Nitro and everything from "Great" to "Dont waist your time and $$"....but....I couldn't pass up the price....even if I decide to hang it in the family room...course....."The Boss" wouldn't like that)...I know I can take all I have read and make this thing fly...one way or another....but the question I would like suggestions on is...The Paint Finish....It looks great...though...I dont know if there really were any P-47's in camo...but...I have heard the paint on these things isn't.....or IS NOT....fuel proof. I would like to paint over it with some flat , fuel proof clear coat of sorts, and was wondering what...if anything, others have used on these models. Maybe clear "water base polyurethane"....like from Minwax?....or would Top Flights paint be OK.....and not cause it all to "fall off" over night....taking the camo paint with it....and finding it lying in a pile under the air frame, while I venture down to the "Aircraft Shop" with my morning coffee.

    ??

    Thanks

White space and punctuation are your friend... it makes you easier to comprehend...

You can use any of the clear coat fuel proof paints sold by different firms such as Top Flite, etc.

    That is what I do.

Apply several light thin coats to build up the cover.
