I want to install a direct power supply to the inside USB connector terminals of my pencam in order to disable its auto shut-off feature. The problem is that I canīt figure out how to disassemble the camera (please see attached picture). Please notice that this is not the same type of Pencam that others mention in this forum, maybe itīs a newer model.

Any help will be appreaciated.

Thanks.

Yours is slightly different than the one I have. I have the Mini PenCam. On that one, there was a single screw in the bottom of the camera. If you open the battery door half way, you will see it. After that's out, there are two plastic clips near the top of the case about lens-level that hold it in place. You just have to gently pry and pray that you don't snap something. This site might help you find your way around inside.

Also, you don't necessarily have to get into the camera to power the usb plug. If you can find the right plug, you can just plug into your camera externally from the RX power.

I think my cam is the Pencam "SD" version, it has two philips screws on its bottom, but even by removing them I haven't been able to open it, caī't figure out how to do it without breaking it.

caiman,

Check the SMT R/C website, look in the 'Tutorials' section there you will find some instructions on how to open the SD.

Regards,
Roger
