I just bought an xcell 60 from a guy and don't know much about it. He didn't either because he never flew it. Anyway, I am new to helicopters, but have been flying planes for quite some time. It looks like an older version of an xcell compared to what I see online. Are parts really expensive? And the cyclic pitch seems to have a lot of slop for the forward and backward movement. The piece the servo connects to slips back and forth somewhat on the main shaft. This isn't normal is it? Thanks for any help. I really appreciate it. I may be interested in selling it.

Hi Marc and thanks for your reply. I just figured out that there is an arm that attaches to a bolt that goes through it and this arm was disconnected. So, that pretty much fixes it for that problem. I still don't know about parts and the heli appears to be pretty old according to a friend. Is it worth keeping since it is around 10 years old ? Can it be upgraded? Thanks! This forum is great.

Hey Mark,

Even the older X-Cell's are grate fling heli's and they are very
easy to upgrade if you want.
Parts are very available, they are not much more than most other
60's. here is a link for the best priced part and upgrades...

Mark, I have a section on my website to help identify the various X-Cell models. Here is the start page for the X-Cell identification which may help you http://www.rchelibase.com/xcell/model/start/

Once the specific model and features are identified it will be easier to help you.

Flew the xcell today. It is an older model, somewhere between 90-97 I think. Anyway, it flew. I have decided to sell it however as I think I will stick to planes. Thanks for all of your help. Parts look pretty expensive.

Mark, sorry to hear you're giving it up so soon.

Hey Marc, The Longmont club is in the process of getting a new field. Our current field is located 1/2 mile East of I-25.

The new field, if we get it, will be just North of highway 66, about half way between Longmont and I-25.

Shoot me an E-Mail when you're coming out.

Al
