Andy, you may have a blown engine, if it ran for 3 minutes at WOT and you were just breaking it in, it probably overheated and blew the engine, that would explain why your having a hard time.

If it was blown would it run for a second then shut off like it does?

I wouldn't think so ... but ehroof does know his stuff.

Can you start it and let it idle?

Or, does it immediately increase RPM's on its own?

Can you use the "macro" button or mode on your camera? It works wonders when taking photos of still objects up close and removes the fuzziness.

But from what I can see, I do not see a problem ... how's your idle screw, can you get an angle shot showing that too?

Saw the vid, when it died there did you hit the brake?

How about if you leave the glow charger on a little bit? I have to do that from time to time due to temps here not being as warm as I'd like.

And you did check to see that the glow plug stays lit when you remove it and put it in the igniter/charger, right?

Okay, and yeah those pics are better, although dark (got flash? lol)

Tighten up that thumbscrew at the end of the brake some more ... it looks like that lever going into the cam has lots of play in it. Mine there is little to no play at all.

Bring your low speed needle out more, it's almost flush but not quite, at least to my eye.

It looks like your idle position is not all the way back on the throttle lever (black boot), mine sits back further.

Remove and clean that air filter, while removed snap another pic of your carb opening.

Is your header loose at the manifold/engine? Check that too ...

Uploaded your pics after altering the contrast to see things.

Yeah, that is what I have been saying ...

Also, remove air filter and clean it, while it's removed snap a picture of the carb opening, I'd like to see how open it is.

i told him about the plug, he said he changed it, it sounded like a plug to me too. Andy leave the ignitor on it when your running it and see if it stays running then

Cool!

Was that with the glow igniter attached?

Take the glow plug out and put it in the igniter and see if it STAYS bright orange the entire time? Does it?

it must be a fuel problem, something to do with not getting fuel or a hole in the fuel/exhaust line. i had a crack in my fuel tank and it wouldt run good and i had a crack in my line that goes from the exhaust to the tank. check these out. or your high speed needle is clogged. make sure its cleaned out.

Recently I had a problem with mine not idling very well and hard to start. I found that the carburetor was coming loose. I took it apart and had to re-position the o-rings, then put a littler permatex on it. Now it is running like a champ. Air leaks are a ****.

Its sounds like the fuel is not being pulled in properly..... in comparison to pinching the fuel line to shut off. Having to prime it after it runs is another indicator of bad suction! I would pull the carb off and make sure it is sealing tight! It sounds as if it is only running off the fuel from priming!

I unscrewed the needle all the away and then screwed it back in and it started to move gas again. So I primed it and got it running. It would run and I could give it gas and it would go and i could give it alittle and it would stop. But as soon as i let off the brake it would go again. It wouldnt really idle.If i gave it full brake it would shut off.I have done adjusted everything on it is there anything else that might be wrong or an adjustment i could do.Im still learning on these things and I have ran out of ideas lol. I have a video of this I dont know If it helps.
