Status: offline 		I have a Carden Yak. I bought a Carden before I was ready for one and now that I maybe ready for one I am realizing its too heavy!
I would like every idea in the book to lighten an already built Carden Yak.
According to my digital scale it wieghs in at about 45 lb.

Status: offline 		Try Carbon Fiber landing gear and wingtubes and you should shave a pound or so off the plane. And what do you have for batteries in the plane?

Status: offline 		I've built a lot of cardens and even stock I've never built one over 39 lbs. Can you tell us what you have in it and what kind of glue did you use etc. Forty five pounds is way heavy, in fact I don't think I can build one at 45lbs if I tried. Check your scale because that doesn't sound right.

Status: offline 		I used a digital scale. A cheap postal scale. It maybe wrong. I will weigh it again on another scale.
I did not build it. You can see the building process on the web. http://www.aeroprotect.com/Workbench/Yak54/Index.html
According to the site it weighs 40lb.
If that is the case and I will make sure then I wont worry about it.
I do not believe that the builder tried to build it light as some do.
It has a DA 150 with canisters and dual 4800 pack fromecos with a 2400 for ignition.
The blue fromeco regs for the batteries all around.
8611A for servos all around.
I will weigh it tonight and let you know.
