....As for me, I am going to go ahead and place an order for the 101.5'' Glider and keep a log of my order process. The total comes out to be $260.26. My reasons for going through with this purchase other than the ultimatum that I listed earler, is that I can not find an equal product (RTF, brushless, etc.) in my eyes elsewhere and I do not get the vibe that BH is trying to rip me off like many other users describe. I also have an excellent credit card company who makes it very easy to dispute charges if something were to go horribly wrong.
To the readers, I assure you that this transaction will be recorded with an un-bias point enabling you to deduce your own opinion. Pete said he is the face of his company, lets see if his company represents the initiative Pete has shown.

I'm still curious as to how this turned out.

hk has a nice glider for 150.00 bone shipped to usa

imo this is the one to buy and stay away from the pete he is a smooth talker

Thanks for the info, but that was actually a quote from someone else looking for a glider. Hope it worked out for him, but given my experience, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. (post #381 on previous page)

Timiline of my experience....

4/28/09 - wife purchased online (she didn't know)

5/7/09 - delivered and hid in basement

6/14/09 - B-day, opened - discovered damage

6/15/09 - review return policy, send pics and all info

6/17/09 - online chat to confirm RMA request, not received, but find it after some 'searching' told 30 days, sorry, asked to speak to manager, forwarded to Taylor who can't seem to find RMA either, "funny, so & so found it", "oh, here it is, sorry 30 days"... request Greg contact info, "no longer here", request Pete's info....

Forward RMA to Pete & Mary.. Reply from Mary -Pete's Assistant, "item is out of warranty. I understand you didn't even see the plane until you opened it, but that's 30 days.. so there really isn't anything we can do. However, can purchase parts, carrie@bananahobby.com, and it runs about $6."

Reply to all: understand your 30-day policy, and its purpose to prevent fraud by customer who misused/abused product. However I can affirm you this is not the case,... I understand if product showed any signs of use, but this is brand new, in the box. not even the first piece assembled... (OR CHARGED) BTW, just for curiosity, I checked parts for my plan, NO PARTS..

6/26/09 - It's been a week, waiting to hear some type of response from the guy trying to change the image of his company, and nothing. Again, I understand your policy. I was hoping you could use a little discretion and see this was bought (4/28), opened (6/14), and obviously unused. If you want to hide behind your strict policies, I guess that's your prerogative. However it will be my prerogative to voice my experience with BH everywhere I can and to anyone willing to listen.

Still waiting......

dude, it was a simple 3ch starter plane.

My father has a bunch of old Control Line planes and gear. About 15 years ago I was going to learn, even built small plane w/ like a 0.039, but got busy and lost interest, all the gear is still there. Recently I talked about maybe getting into R/C, and been pondering plane (close flying field), truck (play anywhere), or boat (fun when I take out 'real' boat). Wife just decided to get me a plane to play with, with it being broke (and crappy service) I pretty much lost interest again.

I still have some interest in Nitro Truck, something like a Traxxas, that I can play with in backyard, street, park ect. Stopped by local hobby shop, and they too have crappy return policy, basically if you open the box and it doesn't work, contact manufacturer, the standard 'retail' type customer service, they can sell you anything, but can't help if you have problems. I figure with these kind of policies, might as well shop EBAY, even EBAY has policies regarding receiving broken/damaged merchandise.

BTW, I had suggested returning $70 plane for credit towards a $170 dollar Nitro Monster Truck, but no bites... Like gambling, maybe it's better I stop.

I got the Blitz RC Pitts bipe from banana hobby last week. No bad experiences here. Quality outstanding, flies great. Will probably try them again. This is currently my favorite fun flier. Held off buying for a long time due to the bad press here...about 3 months! Just couldn't resist any more after looking at the same old crappy quality in the LHS and offerings from parkzone , art tech and other foamie companies. IMO Blitz RC rocks... I hope Pete won't disappoint me on my next purchase, but if he does you will hear about it..I promise. But for now I'm happy with the ordering, shipping, packaging and the product....I guess what I mean to say is there is a lot of crap out there in inexpensive rc products. I've gotten stuff from LHS and other online venders that did'nt work. If your brave enough give em a try. I did and I'm glad I did. Banana hobby does have stuff you can' find anywhere else. Maybe I'm a sucker, we'll see.

DUDE, nice TRUCK, is that a T-Maxx? 3.3? I was looking at the 2.5 a while back. Like the REVO too. The 1/16 E-Revo is pretty neat, to bad you can't get it in nitro.

Spare parts are available if needed. Just click on the spare parts link under the listing for the plane. Delivery may be another matter....from what I've read on these forums though. We'll just have to wait and see should I need parts. So far great flights with no incidents.

I have not dealt with banana hobby before, but it seems like service has taken a back seat to profit in a lot of other online stores as well.

I ordered my RC Tiger tank from Banana Hobby and found it a good experience. I shopped around, and ordered from them because they had the item at the best price including shipping. They e-mailed me with a UPS tracking number, and I recieved my tank within one week. The only thing missing in my package was my instructon booklet. I e-mailed their customer service, and got a same day response that they would mail me the instructions. The instructions arrived within a few days by Priority Mail.

I wish I would have listened to all the the negative reviews of bh! I have bought a fa/18 edf jet rtf kit, got screwed on shipping, and got the model with the incorrect decal set. emailed, and emailed, several live chats, sent pics, and still nothing has been resolved. A small issue that could, and should have been resolved very easily.I have purchased alot of crazy things on the web, from jewelery, and flowers to guns, and complete auto engines( which only cost 125 dollars for a 500 pound crate that only took 5 days from Vegas to Pennsylvania , I paid 50 dollars for 3 day express delivery on  a 7 pound package that took 8 days)
THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL POTENTIAL BH CUSTOMERS, BEWARE if they can't resolve such a simple issue, imagine if you have a serious issue!!!
If any one knows of a quality place to purchase edf jets, cars, and airsoft tanks pleeeez let me know!

Just do a web search, and it depends on what you mean by quality.. To me none of the overseas planes are of top quality. They are in most cases acceptable but not high quality..
Just be careful, one site I went to said 2-4 wks for delivery, thats not acceptable to me...so ck. the shipping and returns section, warrenty claims if any and finally if you can't call and speak to some one forget it.....
Ask for thrust on the planes, if it weighs 48 oz. and the thrust is 20 oz. then it ain't much..Sometimes its the small things in life that really matter, thats what my girl friend tells me
Good luck,,but if you did not listen why will anyone else???

Good point sanman55, I guess I just had to vent. The complaints that i read were all quality issues with the manufacturer, like I said my issues with BH were all customer service(or lack of) I knew the quality of the plane was'nt gonna be great, it was 200 bucks rtf for cryin out loud! I wanted something cheap to beat up on. What I meant was if you or anyone else knows of a quality place to purchase from. Since my local hobby guy retired and closed up.  And yes BH still stinks, i guess i learned to trust some things i read on the web!!!

You are right to play nice, but its so hard to play nice when you see so much pain and sorry and broken dreams of a sweet plane.
How do you say nicely that you feel you have been taken advantage of? How do you tell others that you feel wronged and do it nicely ?
Then you have others that want to tear your story apart..
I guess we just need to get along.. Its a fine line and sometimes hard to walk.
Company's will stand or fall but in these hard times its nice if we can save someone from the pitfalls we have had..
These people have strong feelings to express and its hard to do so in a foram...but it can be done.
I value this stuff, it gives me a handle on whats happening, I ck. the BBB for info, call around and ck. hear and other forams to see what the buzz is...
I am guilty of stepping on the line at times, but I feel so strongly about things and people getting what they order..
Lets not attack but read and try to understand others point of view.. we will all be better off and a lot less stress.

here is some food for thought..... how come you dont see many web sites selling
damaged stuff at a super low price??? they have to get stuff that is damaged in shipping to them...
so why dont we see them selling this damaged stuff?? MAYBE BECAUSE
they sell it to the next person that comes along or ebay edit 4typo
