Well guys here are afew pics of my new 300 Carden and if it ever stops snowing here I may be able to get it to the airport for a maiden flight . I want to thank Vt Barnstormer for his help in the construction as another hand comes in handy, as722 for all his help and tips he is superb and did a great job on his build, dmichaels for the scheme idea and to my wife for putting up with the whole thing because without her patients this hobby would not be possible Thanks everyone and I hope you enjoy the pics. This was my first 40% build and it was a very good learning experience. Once again Thanks everyone Tony

Thanks Guys. Wayne, your planes also look great and your build was awesome. Walt is one talented individual and your lucky to have him do your building. I took some of his tips also and will definately use more in my future builds.

Nice job Tony! Your plane looks great!

BBW Walt -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (3/21/2007 6:02:54 AM)

Man these are beautiful airplanes, even setting on the snow. I thought the 330 would be hard to beat for appearance but I've changed my mind. Very nice, Walt

Tony, when I met you on Feb 11th at the auction in CT you had not even received thie kit. What an amazingly fast build!!! Plane looks excellent. Really nice scheme. Good luck on the maiden. Craig

hoverVT -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (3/22/2007 11:05:30 PM)

Thanks Craig. Mike and I have alot of time in thise few short weeks. I cant wait to see your edge and it is amazing how when you first get into this hobby a 1.20 looks gigantic but as time goes on the bigger the planes get the smaller they seem to be especially when guys are buiding those Hemple monsters. Nice job Craig. Happy Landings, Tony

great looking plane. I really like the color scheme and design you came up with.
Very sharp.

Steve

Thanks Steve but the credit for the scheme goes to Dmicheals I just modified it a little but he gets the credit on that. Thanks, Tony

hoverVT -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (3/24/2007 11:26:35 PM)

Well I finally got to maiden the 300 today. The flight was short as the airport was pretty busy and we snuck it inbetween planes. I was really happy even though the flight was short. 3 clicks up elevator and it was trimmed, maybe it has just been a while since I have flown but the plane seemed much quicker in rolls, and much more neutral in knife edge than my 330 but like I said the last time I flew was in October. It harriered without one bit of wing rock and I have not done any mixing at this time. All I can say is that the 300 will be a very fun plane. Thanks again to everyone for there help and input and Dennis and Caroline you have a winner here. Thanks Tony[:D][:D]

as722 -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (3/25/2007 1:39:16 PM)

Congrats on the maiden Tony. Are the ailerons tapered on your 330 ?

Albert

hoverVT -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (3/25/2007 7:17:27 PM)

Albert the ailerons are not tapered on my 330 and I am pretty sure that the 300 is way faster on rolls but will have to wait until I can fly both. Field still has a foot or more snow and water on it.

stinger40 -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (3/26/2007 4:40:07 PM)

$8,000!!! Right here!!!! Man, your plane looks good!! Nicely done!!! [;)][;)]

hoverVT -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (4/8/2007 2:26:50 PM)

Just got back some pics from the maiden and was sitting here this Easter morning looking out he window at a foot of snow and it is still snowing[:'(] Does anyone have a suggestion on a place where you can pretty much fly year round and not have to deal with 100 degree temps in the summer. I don't mind flying in 40 degre weather but I am sick of snow.

hoverVT -> RE: New Carden Extra 300 Ready to Maiden (5/7/2007 11:19:25 PM)

Well guys I got to put about 6 more flights on the 300 today and all I can do is smile. This plane is awesome! It flys very neutral, just about 2 degres of aileron for knifeedge and will be a big improvement to my rollers. I can't wait to get some more time on the 150 so I can get it a little lower to the ground. It really looks good in the air and will be very visable for IMAC. This was the first weekend we could fly at the field, snow is finally gone, so now we got some practicing to do. If anyone is thinking of getting this plane I would really recommend it, she is truley amazing!!
