Status: offline 		So maybe I should have posted about this in my other thread, but eh...its completely irrelevant to that topic.

When building my 18ss about 6 months+ ago, I didn't noticed that the manual had a measuring system in it to make your fuel lines a certain length, how I overlooked it I have no idea, but I eventually saw it and corrected the issue. I noticed very little in the change of length..
A short time later it was time for some upgrades inluding a inline fuel filter. I basically cut the filters length out of the line i had already made to size..... Other than having to prime a bit more, no difference was noticed with its install, which I expected(I just want a clean motor)...

The drawback to having my lines the exact length that the manual suggests is that they are hard to route without getting into the gears and causings leaks(just fixed one)...

My questions is to the pro's of nitro's.....Does fuel line length actually have any effect on how everything operates or do the manuals just give you a length thats needed to fit your chassis? Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

Status: offline 		screw hpi's guide, it really sucked, make the lings the length you want/need, longer lines give more consistent pressure, mine were usually enough to get to the area and then maybe a few more inches at most, works fine

Status: offline 		yea its just tricky to find a way around getting the tubing stuck in the gears... (Ive lost too much tubing in the area )
i took my drimmel and ..drilled/sanded out a bit from the fuel tank mount so the tube would go out, then point right at the exhaust.this way its not even close to the gears.
But if u get a racing fuel tank you wont have to worry about this crap. The stock fuel tank sucks, but as long as it holds fuel. That stupid primer on top of the tank lets in small bits of dirt and "ittybitty" little rocks that you wouldnt see untell u look at you fuel filter really close. man i cant even think about driving my nitro without having a fuel filter.

Status: offline 		Fuel Filter was the cheapest and to me the single best upgrade to any nitro... That and a good Air Filter are neck and neck on that issue... The 18ss HPI Stock FIlter touches rubber to the heatsink and the filter broke apart after a few cleanings... Just cheap **** IMO.
