Ok guys,

check out my post #7 on http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tm.asp?m=674278
I have a short description. I just started with the Fun Fly Hots and kinda went crazy. I'll fly it in a couple of weeks and post the results.

Thanks for the kudos on the scheme.

Tom....

I hope I do this right. This posting is at the request of Mike Bogh. Nice meeting you Saturday. OK. SOme info on the picture.
Plans came from the Fun Fly Hots Article in MAN. Feb 1993. (is it really been that long ?)
Anyways, I ordered the plans, and after getting them, I said...... This won't do at all. So I took the plans up to Kinko's, blowed them up 200% and this is what I got.

I'm gonna stop here and see if I can get the photo uploaded.
more info later.

OK!!!!!!!! after some work I got the picture Downloaded.

This plane continues to be a joy to fly. It started with a Supertigre 3000, and really wasn't adequate. I don't know why... but I took it off and put a MDS 2.18 on it. It was a little better, but just not there yet.

I was lucky enough to get a G-62 and mounted that. Whee, now we getting there. Now almost there. Currently having problem keeping the muffler on. The few flights, I guess have been so violent, that the muffler come loose every time. I'm going to spring for one of those "little" Bennett Mufflers. Not so big and heavy.

Lessee........ other that it took half of Brazils' Balsa output for a year........ Each wing panel is 48" It varies from the plans, that I made the wings removeable for transport. Also, when building the wing panels and using 2 heavy duty Servo's, I had servo buzz. So if you look closely you will see the airleron balances. THis stopped the buzzing totally.

The wing is 4.5 inches thick. it measures over 25 inches front to back not counting the airlerons.

THats enough for now.

Please alert Mike Bogh to this posting. he wanted to see it.

Dan

Its currently using a 22x10 prop.

I have been thinking about when I first saw this in MAN. I'm very sure I saw the article sometime in 2000 or 2001. The FEB 1993 is the first printing of the article. I haven't had the plans that long.

Its a georgeous flyer. its not built for speed at all. Its like a flying ballet in slo-mo. I'm using a ACE MicroPro Digital Transmitter. It has a total of 7 servos in it. just 4 for the airlerons. The servos are all HiTech HS-705MG, except for the throttle, which is a cheep little servo.

Its balanced exactly where the plans specify, resulting in good inverted flight. Just a tenny bit of down when inverted. just enough to remind you which way is "UP". LOL

It really satisfies my soul when I do a manuever, that I call a torque roll stall.

the plans were originally for a 48 inch model. I had the plans blown up 200%. THen I modified the wings to use 2 torque tubes. one is 1.5 inches, the other is 5/8, in the wing root. 2 bolts secure the whole thing. the rear tube just floats.

Strangely enough, I don't know yet how much it weighs. Heavy. I'm going to do a little surgery on it, to remove some weight.

Takes off and lands like a dream... not twitchey at all.

Wasn't bad at all. Just make a template from cardboard and trace onto the monocote. The white is one piece.
