Just FYI. this is a completely different airframe then the Aeroworks. I had the opportunity to see them side by side at the 2007 **** Huckfest fly-in in St Louis. The PP airfoil is much thicker across the whole wing, and the tips cord is longer on the PP. If you look closely at the manuals, you'll also notice the lightning holes are differently shaped in the AW vs the PP. The elevators on the PP are the largest I have ever seen on any RC plane⦠and of course larger than the AW.
I am a PROWD owner of one of these unit. It is the best flying plane I have flown to day. With a 115 BME in it, AWSOME POwer, and super light. running pull-pull on rudder.
Blake, keep up the good work buddy

Well it took darn near all summer waiting for engines, then engine parts but I finally got my first few flights on mine powered with the bme 115. Awesome, literally jumped of the ground 4-6 ft rollout from 1/4 throttle with the 115. spool up on the 27" break in prop is as fast as a 15-6 on a saito 100 (fast) and still running rich. plane flew excellent, almost no detectible pull in KE. tracks great; snaps stop clean. Did a nice waterfall and wall, I didnt push the 3d on a brand new motor. I never got it weighed but it seems to fly very light. Im a happy camper

I also did first flight on mine this past weekend. Very good flying airplane, easiest hovering airplane I've ever had. The BME-115 is definitly the way to go with this airplane, I used the new 3W-106 with the aluminum carburetor block. The engine weighs almost 8 ounces heavier than Cactus advertises them. I had to add 5 ounces of lead in the tail and this is with the batteries back as far as I could get them in order to get the airplane to balance where It seemed to be best to fly.

Mine came in today, NICE quality. Thanks Blake!!! Ordered on Friday arrived on Tuesday. have not inventoried all yet but want to know what SWB arm to use on a pull pull. Also, is anyone having any luck on Hitec 5955 single on rudder?
I am hoping to try out the new Torch 90 and may have it in a week or so. In a conversation with Jim at Western Hobbies today he said tt was extrememly smooth for a single cylinder and turned the TBM 27x10 at 6200 on the bench. Maybe I don't need a pipe after all?

rcairfly Rich Mowery here, what does your plane weigh? I have no balist weight in our planes at all, but the skywriter smoke system sitting in back of wing tube with 20oz tank helped out. I got my DA 85 engines in and installed one in the 260 and man took care of everything and nothing short of power. The plane lost 2 lbs or a bit more. Take care and good job.

Rich you can use a 3" SWB arm on rudder with offset and also 2-1/2" When you ask about the 5955 on rudder pul lpull I take it. I think you would be fine as the 5955 is just a hair under what is advertised on that servo. Ryan is running 1 JR 8711 in rear of plane on rudder and no fade at all. I mean if you got one why not try it out and see if you get any servo fade in Knife edge.Dosen't take that long to change out a servo even if you where at the field on rudder.

Thanks Rich, curious about the 3 inch SWB. On my EF-88 I used a 4 inch. I guess it is all about the design. Is the placement of the cutouts for the rudder servo on pull pull designed for crossover cables or straight back cables? Also I notice two rudder servo cutouts in the pull pull position, any recommendations there?
When you guys did the 85 cc motor did you still get it to balance with the servo in the tail no problem? Where did you place the batteries?
Thanks,
Richard

How long is the fuselage including spinner? I didn't see that mentioned in spec. I have a transpotation issue and must use full size Ford Expedition with all seat folded down, How do you feel this aircraft compairs to the H9 35 % Extra 260?
Thanks

In the manual Page 29 you spoke of Rich I had the plane all setup with a DA 100 and the pull pull system with all pictures done for the manual like plane was designed. Well the plane was a little nose heavy for that setup and Ryan ask if there was servo holes in fuse sides I could switch the servos to the back of fuse and he also likes control rod setup. This would also transfer some weight to the rear for CG purpose. I did a pull pull setup with 2-each servos I had then did that giant scale servo pull pull you seen earlier in thread. That's what I'm flying with the DA100 now in my plane. Let me look throuh all the pictures I have and see if I got the pull pull setup for manual I wrote left. I found the pics, also need to place these pictures on a couple other threads

FBaity, Man I've been down for awhile with health and hope that you have got this question answered. But if not FYI the fuse on the Extra 260 is 93-1/2 inches from rudder to spinner and that's and Ultimate spinnner Sir. Sorry Frank I'm trying to find all the threads at this time.

With the 85cc I just switch the motor and left Ryans Like it was with the 100c. And no problem with CG. It fixed CG with the motor change. And the Batterys to this day or still mounted where I sent you the pictures of them in the plane with the 100cc.

Thanks Rich,
I flew it twice at the Atlanta Huckoctoberfest. I flew it up high, the engine had a timing issue and would only get low 5000 rpm on 26x10. The manufacturer of the Torch 90 is sending another engine and I will get some air time on it just as soon as it comes. With the 90CC an pipe it flew real light on the controls. Should be a good combo.
I hope you get well soon Rich.
Richard

Rich,
Talking to Some friends said there sure was a lot of planes of Chris from EF there and I guess we can say Thunder Power or formally SD models there. Also Dennis and Carolines Carden Birds I'm sure. Sorry to here about the engine problem. I read that on the other thread with the timming problem. Take Care Rich M.
