I just finished building my Scalpel.

I too went for the Mamba/X (8kv).

If you put too much grease in the diff (like I did) it will throw it out when you first run it

Secondly despite my gearing (middle diff / 14T) the thing will swap ends with 1/2 throttle and only minor steering input.

Only had time to run it around the parking lot late last night, but this is easily the fastest thing i have ever owned.

Photographs tonight - hopefully.....

Have you run it yet, LB? I can break it in for you if you don't have the time.

I am running 4-cells - looks like the diff is too loose though - hence the swapping ends issue - it drops to one-wheel-drive.

Seems to be a little tough to setup - pics tonight - assuming I get home at a reasonable time.....

Finally.......

Not had chance to run it much, but it is incredibly fast and twitchy, I took it into the office and ran it along a ~200ft corridor yesterday, only one minor issue - it is too low even in the +2mm setting - minor imperfections on the 'track' send it flying in all sorts of directions and spins are merely tiny grains of dust away !
