OK Guy's,

I know some of you have been waiting, so here it is. My International woody

First I had the plans made full size $26AU, then I read everything all you Blokes had, and were doing!
I'll let the pic's tell the story to start with.

Looks real good

what engine and drive are you planning ?

I don't think the foam was a good idea though !

pool noodles would have been better !

Not sure on the gear yet, It depends on how much I get when my heli sells!

What's wrong with the foam idea?

Hi Glen

I use pool noodles because you can take them out to clean the boat and their cheap $1.50 each

I would check to see if gas eats the expandable foam you used !

if you used aerosol foam, it soaks up plenty of water. not good!

2 pack expanding foam will work, it also adds to the rigidity of the hull and is available in different densities.

Steve,
It is 2 pack! it's cheaper than pressure pack stuff. and although I mixed mine to be hard, if you add a little less hardener, you can get the same consistency as a pool noodle apart from that, that section of the hull will be sealed.

Looks nice Glenn for cheap floatation i use pipe insulators theyre cheap but you probably dont need them over there with your climate .Pool noodles are the other alternative dont forget to use those down either side as the last thing you need is if your boat flips and takes on water is for the boat to be floating nose up in the air.If you put enough floatation either side of the hull she will float level when upside down.Who knows she might even keep dry ive known that to happen.keep up the good work!!.

Hi Mart,

I plan on using them down the sides just in case, BUT!! I plan on trying to make it, so it will be very hard to flip.

I'm going to try putting Gyro to keep control of the rudder. Any unauthorised rudder movement should be corrected before you can even see it.

The problem with the foam is that it tends to blow boats apart. A totally enclosed area like you have will act like and oven. This has the affect of making the foam expand, Since there is no place for the foam and hot air to expand to, it will split the seams and destroy the boat. All it takes is the boat be left in the sun a few times and "BOOM"

Looks good Glen, what engine are you going to use?
Most flips come from user error or rouge wave, not sure what the gyro will do to help? Maybe remote controlled tabs hooked into the gyro as well?

It might do nothing at all, and I'm sure they could be used to control some specially modified Tabs.

They work very well on heli rudders.
Not sure what motor yet, it depends on how much I get for my heli!, I hoping for G260.

Hey Mart.

Who's a coward?? I might have a go at them to morrow.
Not sure on colour yet, maybe fire orange with decals, or metalic gunmetal, and white on the under side and in the centre of the topdeck

You already have the chine on the boat (see chine thread) What we are discussing is the sprayrail, strake or running strake

Nice looking hull, I like you deck treatment. Colourwise I would go with orange, no mistaking or losing it on the water.

Thanks Dana,
It's not as nice as one of yours, but it will do me for now, I'll PM you again Later

G'Day w3bby,

Yeah yeah, Chine, strake, Or long skinny bit of wood stuck on the bottom of my boat, I'll put something on it and see what happens

The deck treatment, I have to admit, was inspired by one of Dana's boats, I like it.
I think I will go with the orange.

Glen

Ok
I finally got around to putting the Strakes on, if thats what you call them, but I think I got them a bit wrong, I might have to build up the outside edges, they don't quite in line with the sides, they angle in slightly. does this matter??

The boat looks great. The little bit the spray rails are angled in on the sides shouldn't affect anything. Keep up the good work. Doug
