If you do a little searching on Google, you find evidence of Tony Yu all over the place. He, or an associate, has a place they call Hobby.com that is at 909 Conklin Street Farmingdale (middle of L.I.) NY 11735. There is a cell phone 631 845 7223 shown.

If you order something from him here is what the typical tracker will look like . . .

This is the name of the company in China is . . . .
http://www.willhobby.com/

All this is pretty well documented in Google and there is a lot of discussion about Tony Yu and the products he represents especially over on another modeling site. Read all this and decide for yourself.

We had a discussion about ASP last year in glow engines. Someone called the US Number. Call and quiz the lady and see what you find out about what she can ship you and where is the shipping point.

To order something from a USA contact and then the product be "drop shipped" from China is not that unusual. In fact, the service can be pretty much as good as ordering something that has to travel across the USA in time frame. In the above example it was 3 days to a Zip in Texas. It was a Will Hobby Transil ARF.

I've ordered from some of the stores in China and got good service. In fact I've had problems with some of the products and the problems were rectified with a RMA to a USA location.

My point is that the only official Sanye representatives in the USA are Hobby People for Magnum engines and Horizon for the Evolution glow engines. As noted in an earlier post, someone Emailed Sanye and the reply was that Horizon was the USA representative for ASP. And indeed they used to sell a lot of them. I've had ASP's from the old Indy R/C place as well as Horizon Hobby in the past.

I called Horizon and they have nothing to do with the ASP or Magnum let alone parts. Not sure why Sanye would tell me to contact them. I did a email exchange with Just Engines in England, they can send me the part I need. Comes out to $22.00 after the conversion to quid and postage. I may have to bite the bullet but will hold off for a while since it is now winter.

The American green back is turning into a world wide piece of dung in comparison to other foreign exchanges.

With the price of oil right now the extra 10 bucks seems fair to ship something across the ocean and in your case the US that comes out to about .001 cent per mile quite a bargin don't you think

Horizon has had a working relationship with Sanye since 1998 when they bought Indy R/C. Horizon (or Hanger 9) sold ASP engines for several years. When Hobby People changed the Magnum engines from being Thunder Tiger to Sanyes and had good volume - For one reason or another Horizon stopped selling ASP engines but still carried the parts up through 2005. Meanwhile Sanye came out with a very different looking two stroke and Horizon sells it as the Evolution glow engine. The Evolution gas engines are from MVVS.

These distributors consider their sources to be proprietary information. If you call Magnum, "They don't carry ASP parts." No, ASP and Magnum are not the same." "Sanye? never heard of them." "Break time? 10:00." The regular people who work in these places have little idea of Chinese inter-relationships of products. They are given the same information that they gave you. They are not allowed to say anything else. And essentially these people have given you the correct answer. Even the Email from China where the person told you that Horizon was a US distributor is correct. Horizon just does not carry any parts for your engine.

There are very few parts of an Evolution two stroke glow engine at Horizon that will fit your ASP four stroke except the needle valve and ratchet spring and maybe a prop washer. Horizon has discontinued the ASP parts that they carried for 5 years after they quit selling the ASP engine brand.

The ASP "S" series 52 two stroke and the Magnum XLS 52 two engines have different cylinder heads. In bigger sizes, one is ABC and the other ringed.

Yet when you set a later Magnum, AP, ASP, SC, Sanye, Evolution, and RCS engine side by side, it is quickly obvious who made them even though some parts will vary and not be interchangeable.

Hello everybody, I need some help here.. I recently acquired an ASP .91 new series that looks like the O.S. I was wondering if one can use an O.S. pitts muffler for this engine. Also, would it be a pitts for the .61 or the .91 since i think the casings are the same size. If these mufflers do not work, does anybody know what pitts muffler I could use? Thank you.

All ASP engine are basically copies of different OS engines. Which ASP do you have.

The current one is the "S" and it is compatible with the 91FX series of OS engine.
