I was thinking of getting one, but wanted to ask, how well it can fly in windy conditions, like up to how many MPH wind before it gets blown away?

I just got mine via FedEx today,

You guy's are scaring with me the glitches. I'm planning to give her a maiden voyage this weekend.
I'll make sure to keep some space between the plane and the ground until I'm sure there are no glitches.
I'll post back to the thread to let ya'll know how it goes...

Wish me luck,

Mike

Honetly by my experiences... The wind is a probleme i dont like to fly in it... Unless it is the glitches that is toying with my plane in the air, this plane gets poushed arrouned alot in the air by the wind... It does not like to glide at all so keap your speed up while your landing and flying low to the ground...
I wish you all the best of luck... I sure havent had any but im up and flying again after that nasty spill on a rock... Kepp posting...

Mat

Just got a Typhoon 2 . Which prop is everyone using. There were two different props in the box (larger for speed(lipo)-smaller for 3D)

I'm using the larger prop to start off with, I believe that it is the "slower" of the two...

So far so good on my maiden flight... I'm starting to get the hang of the ailerons.
One quick question though... What is the best way to land this bird? My first attempt was trying to glide her in nice and easy but that did not seem to work to well for me. My second attempt was about a 1/4 throttle landing which was faster but less "drastic" contact upon touchdown. Any tip's would be greatly appreciated !!!

I'm new to this thread. I've had the typhoon2 for a while. From the beginning, the rudder servo was bad. It shimmied. Horizon replaced with a JR. They did not have a duplicate of the original. In the last couple of days I lost both servos for the ailerons. They just died. I replaced both with analog Hitec 55's. I guess there is still a problem with the typhoon2 servos. Jim

If you try to glide it in, it will "flop" to the ground when you least expect it -- not a pretty landing.
I usually let it glide in on the approach and when it's about 4 or 5 feet off the ground, I give it a little power until it levels off. Then, I just start reducing power for a soft landing. A little flaring at the end will give you a 3-point landing.
On windy days, I increase the power for a faster landing keeping better control over the Typhoon.

I got my 'phoon2 together, and I am nothing but extremely disappointed in it. The elevator slot/support skews the elevator on one side nearly a half-inch lower than the other side. Pathetic alignment, that I will have to redo before first flight. One aileron gap is nearly twice as wide as the other; another pathetic factory screw-up. I'm going to seal the hinge gaps, and not try to fix it. The wings are shrink-covered with white wrapping, but the decals are applied over the white shrink covering, and both wing decals, top and bottom, are bunched-up, giving the plane a "cheap" look.

If the developers of the 'phoon2 had put more time into quality control issues, instead of zoom-zoom upgrades like shrink-wrapped wings and digital servos, I'd be a helluva lot happier than I am right now.

This is the 3rd 'phoon that I have purchased, and likely will be my last. The quality control issues on my 'phoon are inexcusable.

Buyer, beware!

Charles

Greetings...

I am not only new to the Typhoon 2 3D, but Li-Po's as well. I have been flying with Ni-Mh batteries, and charging them using an AC Adaptor that accepts the Cigarette Lighter Plug on the Charger. I prefer not to charge my batteries in the car.

However, my AC Adaptor is limited to 12v 1a Output, and I apparently need a 12v 3a output for the Li-Po charger. I would appreciate knowing what devices I need to charge the Li-Po battery, using the Charger that came with the T-2 3D, other than the cigarette lighter in my car.

Thanks,
Fred

I use a 15 foot, fused #8 extension with alligator leads at the battery end, and banana plugs at the distribution station end. I may charge up to 8 batteries at once, I have charged 6 at once, with 6 chargers connected to my distribution station. The extension is connected to the vehicle battery terminals, and my flight/charge box is about 15 feet away from the vehicle then. I have 8 cigarette lighter sockets wired to the power distribution station.

I wouldn't charge lipos inside my vehicle either. Just an accident begging to happen.

I also use a computer power supply capable of 19 amps @ 12 volts in the garage, to charge up to 5 batteries at once. I have 4 other computer power supplies, of less amperage, doing other chores as well, and yes, I'm in the garage while the batteries are charging!

Greetings, Charles...

Thanks for sharing your set-up with me. I was hoping I could find something like I use for my Ni-Mh batteries, but looks like the best place for me to be charging the Li-Po's is "Out In The Garage".

The "Alligator Clip: 12V Lighter Adapter" is out of stock at the moment, but looks like what I need for a simple one battery set-up.

Thanks again,

I use an old self-contained, battery operated, unit used mainly to inflate auto tires on the road, in case of a flat. It has a cigarette lighter input where I plug the Typhoon battery charger. It works great for two good rechargings, then I have to plug the unit onto a wall AC outlet to charge the internal battery. If I leave the unit plugged in while charging the Typhoon battery, it stays fully charged throughout the whole process.

Greetings, Jmir...

Outstanding!!! I guess my Alzheimer's is acting up again.

I have one of those Self Contained Batterie Packs, complete with cigarette lighter receptical, that I use to power my GPS when flying the "BIG"
