Since some of the links are live now at Fliton.com, I thought I'd start a thread on the New Inspire 90. I first saw this at the AMA convention in Jan 07. It's a beautiful plane, and designed for pattern. I'll post more as more information surfaces. I know some of us who has its smaller sibling rave of its awesome flying characteristics while bemoan its looks. Well, I think Fliton did a great job on this one. It has the classic Fliton flair while reserving a touch of modesty / maturity that I think pattern flyers would appreciate. After all, how can you get any respect if you have pink on your airplane ? I would definitely be interested in adding it to my hangar.

Some Info on the Specs

Wingspan 67.7 "
Length 72.9"
Weight 109 oz (minus battery)

Powertrain recommendation:
Hacker A50 16L
APC E 18 x 10
10S 20C 3700
Price around 350 dollars

Saito 125 will probably be a perfect match for this frame, as is the OS 120 AX for the glow flyers out there.

Personally, I have an AXI 4130/16 with FP 4900 6S and I think it'll be a suitable match also when matched with a 16x12 or 17x10 APC-E prop

It would make a great practice plane. I'm in if the price is right.

The AXi 4130/16 with a 18x12 prop on 6s Lipos would be more than enough power for this bird. I've got the same set up in another plane with similar weight.

You're right! The two planes right next to each other in that picture looks similar .

In all seriousness, don't all pattern plane looks "similar"? The inspire has airfoiled tails, and definitely bigger side area.

This may be my way of breaking into electric. I love the looks and hope they don't price it outta sight.

Al, I emailed Edson, and he told me that the price will be 350 dollars. It should be here in 6 weeks or so.

Yeah. Thanks. I called today and they told me between $350 and $400 with first delivery around May. Looking at battery costs I think I'll be throwing the 120AX from my Showtime into this one. I'm definately in. I don't really like the Showtime as a pattern trainer. This one looks much more promising for a Sportsman-wanna-be. Much more reasonably-sized control surfaces.

HI all I am very new to the pattern world i dont even know any patterns lol.. I would reallly like to buy a very nice pattern type plane. Would this INspire b the ticket. I want a plane that is very stable and easy to fly. Would a Saito 125 b ok for this plane. Would there b any mods necessary to route the exhaust. Keep in mind i dont know a thing about these type planes. I love the way these type planes look and i hope they fly as good as they look.. I have researched some and they r wayyyyyyyy too pricey for me.. Is this plane similar to the Venus 2.. Any and all advice would b appreciated.

Saito 125 would be perfect for it, and if you look at the bottom picture, they have a channel for the muffler already, so you don't have to hack on the fuselage for it. At any rate, no one here knows how it flies yet, but if it flies like the rest of the Fliton planes, it will be a winner for sure.

Wow...good news..i used to fly pattern and then got switch to electric helis. I have some 6S FP4900 packs I use in my trex600. This would be agreat choice for me so I can use my packs for pattern too. What would be the best choice for the motor? I am hearing the AXI 4130/16, but how about a hacker motor? which one? and also what ESC? ohh and what prop? I heard hacker are good motors..and don't know anything about axi. are they better? Sorry for so many questions, but a 6S pattern plane is what i was waiting for!!!! Please advice on the best 6S powerplant for this plane.

I have the Fliton Inspire 60. Its more of a 3D type plane but if the 90 is made anything like 60 it should be a geat plane for practice and the newbie pattern flyer. Fliton makes a quality ARF. They are light and preform well. Just make sure, like with any ARF, that all the glue joints are good.

Look forward to seeing one those fly.

The Hacker equivalent will be A50 16S. However, if you're starting from scratch, I'd go for Hacker A50 12L and prop it to 17x10 or 17 x 12.
