I use Electrifly 2100 20C 3s packs, but I bought the fiberglass canopy knowing they would be too big. The glass canopy is a few inches longer.

On my 400 I cut the lower part of the canopy out to fit it on the bird.

Let me know if you need some pics

Interesting, I have heard just the opposite and that TP are bad. My GP packs are great.

Anyway, you must have gotten the wide version eh?

This is what should be used in terms of shape.

What it you stand it on it's side?

I got the 2100 Power Series that Tex pointed to. they're roughly the same size as the ones the manual recommends but have the balancing connector instead of the so-called smart charge circuitry-- significant benefit. I stand it on it's side and thread the power lead between the frame and the motor to go out the side, and then use a velcro strap to hold it down to the (abbreviated) battery shelf. They are a tight fit in the white canopy, but that may be a plus by holding them more securely.

Cool, I have 2 of these battery's on order now , Thx for the heads up.. I called Heli-max ( Hobbieco ) this afternoon and ****ed about the stock blades and how i could not get them balanced.. the guy on the other end thought i was stupid or something and said that the balancer was bad ( it is also a HeliMax balancer ) and that i should send it back .. did not tell him that i had all ready done some Align blades with no issues .. then he said to try and to rebalanced them .. Ok .. cut all the freaking tape off of them and redid it.. same amount of tape again ... HMMM .. also during the telephone call i told him about the play in the head and main shaft all the way down to the set screw and nut .. he said thats ok and that his also turned about 1-1-1/2 inches left to right and back .. talking about a Swing to get someone off the phone ... If the blades do not work this time i will call back and talk to his boss i guess Just a heads up

Make sure you tighten all the screws including the two holding the seesaw. I posted I picture of it earlier. Once I went through every single screw and tighten all of them and used thread lock I was able to get the blades tracked.

With the loose head, some times these parts get milled just a bit too much, ask HM to send you a new head or buy one. They are cheap.

Not sure if its the head more then the shaft itself. I can hold the tail main gear and move the shaft including the head about 1 inch left and right .. thinking it mite be the one-way bearing .. the screw and bolt on the bottom are very tight and i`am all most to scared to touch it anymore .. i used a sharpie and marked the bottom of the shaft and i can see it move in the main gear when i move the head

Do you have a camera? take a picture of the loose parts and post it here.

Sammy, grab a hex driver and unscrew the blades from the blade grips. Once you have them both off, put both blades in one hand. Walk over to the nearest garbage can and throw them in.

Now that that is over, get some CF blades. You had way too much balancing tape. You can use the Align blades for now, but they are only rated up to 2500 rpm. If you are running the 2700kv w/14T pinion your head speed at 100% throttle will be 2736rpm. So for know you'll be ok.

The fly bar should be slightly tight and should require you to move it with your finger. It is too loose if you push down on one paddle and it flops back when you let go. There should be a slight amount of friction there. This requires you to adjust the tightness of the seesaw screws. I know I keep repeating myself, but it is very important. They also need to be checked before every flight.

It is possible your belt is too loose and that is why you can turn the blades that far. The belt comes loose out of the box, you have to tighten it by moving the boom farther out a few mm. Also, if you are holding the head tightly, the main drive gear should not move either way(maybe 1mm at most).

It looks like you have the Align ESC, make sure you are using soft start.

LOL .. Ok i will get rid of them .. i was trying what the dude from Helimax help line said to do .. i cut all the Red tape off of them and went threw a RE- balance and used the Electrical tape for the weight .. the fly bar is snug as you say it should be and there is a little force to move it an any direction .. Yes using the Align 35A ESC like yours and the soft start is enabled .. i have chked the tightness of the belt and as the Manual says that there should be a little play in the belt ( Page 7 ) .. i think i will just have to replace the Main shaft and both main gears .. it should be covered under warranty but they already said that ( Help line for Helimax ) theres also do it to .. HMMM

Could be a bad one way bearing.

Are you just having problems tracking right now or is it worse than that?

BTW, crashed the 450 last weekend. Somehow the motor moved away form the pinion and I was too close to the ground and by the time I knew what was going on it was too late.

I have her back together and she's flying again, but it really sucks when they crash.
