Thanks very much for your opinion. It's very wellcomed.
I have a 150 and I have doubts about if installing it ot not.
Lots of friends are recommending me that Saito 180 is the proper one, and I am a bit confused, honestly.

Maybe becuase they are thinking about unlimited vertical performance, which is a different history.

Status: offline 		Go with the saito 150, the airplane is very very light, i recomend using a apc 16x6 or 17x6 prop in this airplane and saito 150 engine combo, it will have unlimited vertical performance, no doubt about that.

Status: offline 		Personnaly, I will use an OS 160Fx with APC 18x6W. With the ARF Peakmodel Edge, this motor was great. I'm sure it will be the same with this Extra. Saito 150 will be good with less power of course.

Status: offline 		The edge is good, but the extra 260 is another world comparing to the edge.

It is lighter and better designed plane, the os160 fx would be rocket power in the extra.

I agree with you with the big power of the 160Fx and the rocket it will be with Extra as the wings are less thick on the Extra

Status: offline 		Mike i will be able to give you a definite answer on the saito 150 this weekend. As for props the 16x6 is way to small. I am going to start out with the 17x6 apc and maybe try a 18x6. I really think the 150 will be more than enough as this plane is very light. I am sure it will be lighter than the old funtanna 90 that everyone useed the saito 150 in.

I will be really grateful if you give us feedback an small review abot tperformance with the Saito 150.
Please, do not forget capture details as total weight of the plane, CG issues, vertical performance and props.

Status: offline 		MikeSteve I am mounting the engine tomarrow. So far this plane is really light. Once i have it fully assembled I will weigh it and give a final weight. So far the only thing i would like to change would be the landing gear. I did not care for the axles that came with it so i am swapping them out and the tail wheel i opted for a sullivan. Also the gear is heavy. I may start looking for carbon fibre. You could really save alot of weight this way. But over all I am really impressed so far. I really think this plane will come out within the advertised weight.

Status: offline 		Ok guys just a little update. I have been working on the plane and will not get to fly it. I had to set mine up with the included pull pull ruder and i am having some balencing issues. As it stands right now with just a spinner nut on the saito 150 it is going to take about 3 ounces of lead to balence out at 133mm as the instructions give for a starting point. I did weigh my plane on a digital scale and with no wheel pants and the 3 ounces of weight mine is sitting at 9 pounds 6.6 onces. I am working on moving things around and loosing weight. I feel i should beable to get it down to 9 pounds.

Status: offline 		The peaK 26CC has good 3d power here in brazil, the altitude in our field is 1200 feet, the best propeler is the APC 17x6 or APC 17x8 plastic propeler, RPM reading were 8400 17x6 and 7900 17x8 prop.

My extra 260 in the video had 5 standart size servos, 2x 1300 6v nimh packs, and a small 10oz fuel tank, if you keep it light it will have good power for 3d, not like a saito 180, but descent power.

I bought another one, i think i will install my ys110FZ, and make a espetacular light airplane

Status: offline 		I had to add weight to the tail. Spacing from the firewall to the thrust washer was 5 1/4 inches. I am looking at moving the rudder servo in the tail. This should give me the cg i am looking for without adding weight and also give me the chance to move the cg back even further if i need to. The only problem is if I use the extra space in the tail for a servo the two servos will touch each other and will not fit. It does look like i will be able to cut a hole for the rudder servo just above the existing position without any problems. No big deal but a little more work than anticipated. But doing this will mean droping and easy 3 onces.

Status: offline 		Hey Cmircman I solved the problem for the twin elevator servos, infact there is a post on this that I made and there are some pics. You have to cut the space above the other one. Be sure to reinforce though as I did.

I had massive problems trying to fit the evolution 26GT. You can not use the usual mount but I had to order a radial and some standoffs. Also to get some extra power I am using a tune pipe but the header touches the bottom of the fusealage so I had to order a spacer between cyl head and header to just get me out of the way .

I also had to reinforce the rudder cause i just wasnt happy with the way this bit of the plane was built. There should be a triangular peace of balsa at the bit where the horns go so I did it externally as you can see in the above link

Status: offline 		I actually dont know cause the model hasnt even been finished yet. I get little time each day but Im nearly there. All I can say that this is really light. I had the same engine on a showtime 90 which was heavier and had unlimited vertical with an 18 x 8 prop.

I have put a 10oz tank in the middle and used carbon fibre instead of balsa where possible. I have also used a carbon fibre wheel tail unit which was on my showtime (R.I.P) since this is much more lighter. I will also be using a Xoar 18 x 6 wooden prop without a spinner.

I dont think there is a lot more to do to make this plane lighter, except as you mentioned, by using carbon fibre landing gear struts.

Status: offline 		The combination was ok but I think it was too heavy for wings ie there was very large wing loading so slow flying was not that great. There is an article on 3D Flyer just on this combination and auther shows you exactly how to modify the Showtimes airframe. Unfortunately I do not remember the issue date cause I borrowed the mag from a freind but you could always look it up on their web site.

As regards to saito 125,,, that engine is made for the showtime ! If I had a saito 125 i would have certainly used that and not the evolution 26gt/mvvs 26. Its light and powerful. I just wanted to do something different.

Status: offline 		OK guys just a update. I got fly my extra 260 and all i can say is WOW!!!! This plane flys circles around the other guys funtanas. Knife edge was almost hands off. Locked into hover really easy. No wing rock in harrier. And all this with the CG at 133mm. I am going to start moving it back to see if anything gets better or worse. As for power my saito 150 is still breaking in so pullout power is about the same as the 26cc gas motor in Jose's video. I am only running 15% nitro and I am going to be experimenting with props and higher nitro. Today i flew with the APC 17x6. I have a 17x8 to try also. The 17x6 tacked out at 8900 rpm.

Status: offline 		Thats great cmircman I hope mine flies as good as yours with this evolution 26 ! I wonder how much lighter the saito 150 is ?

Anyway my plane is nearly ready and I have managed to solve the engine mount problems and managed also to just miss fuselage with the header by using an aluminium spacer between head and header.
I also put throttle servo on top
