SilentBob,

I just called Futaba, and they gave me the same part #s..

Not that I don't trust you, but you said you have the 4YF, so I just wanted to make sure...

I wonder if I can order it through Hobby Town USA?! I will check w/ TEX..

LB I have the part numbers if you need them. In the mean time I made my own using the stock arm as a template.
HSP78901 ST-53 SWING ARM for $.37
HSP67450 SPRING for $.45

Full name is rcarmornutsarmorhut or something close to it. I can give you a link once I get home. I don't recommend anything other than something close to the stock silvercans for motors. Definitely not advanced timing. The Leo DMD is an all in one unit. unlike all the other tanks. There's no known way to separate dmd functions and esc abilities. Especially not brushless. You are welcome to try at $350+ a pop for the DMD though

I think the Sport Tune will be okay, but I don't plan on doing it...

The plan I got is
1 - Get the new Tamiya GT motors and set them to zero degrees.
2 - Get the lowest powered trinity monster 550s and set to zero degrees.

GTs are 27T
Trinity monsters on 7.2V and zero degrees should provide very little stress to esc. Fitting might be an issue though. The other mod I'm thinking is a battery brace to fit a 3x3 configuration for the batteries in the front lower hull. This way turret is less crowded. Less stress on the rotation unit too.

Good luck, my Hobbytown could only get me the spring and not the arm. If you can get both pieces would you mind getting double and shipping me one. I'll reimburse you of course

lol at some of the plans to put in after market motors. Most of the tanks guys regear these so they are slower and more accurate in terms of speed. THey try to make them as 1:1 as possible. You guys are crazy. I mean that in a good way.

You haven't even seen price for the 1/6 scale tanks yet. Go browse the tank section and prepare to have a heart attack.

Well, if they have them in stock i'll shoot another email to Karen at AAF and see if she has them yet. Weird thing was Hobbytown couldn't even order me the arm because it wasn't in their system, only the spring. Perhaps Tex will have an answer and maybe I was dealing with somebody who just didn't know their way around the hobbytown ordering system.

as for details you could also look into modling mags. many diffrent ways to mask it off. One article i read showed how to use silly putty for masks on complex surfaces.

Saw that in I think was the Oct issue of Scale Modeller. I also saw how to make silly putty as well, I did and it works pretty well.

LB I dunno about spray can camo. I tried it and it goes all over the place, since it is hard to mask. I'd probably use liquid mask or silly putty if I were using spray paint.
