Missileman: While your method would certainly work, it indeed does not matter which channel you plug those servos into.

What you do is plug them all in, then check to make sure they all move the swash up when applying pitch. If one servo moves in the wrong direction, you reverse that channel. If you then find that aileron or elevator move in the wrong direction, you simply go into the swash settings on the radio, and set it from a positive to a negative value for that function...

For an easy to understand walk through of setting up CCPM, take a look at the CCPM setup 1 and 2 vids from Bob White here:

Depend on the radio. My radio does not have that degree of adustments on the swash settings. My servos either move in the right direction or not. Servo reversing is all thats available. (drawback to using stone aged radio )

Missileman: What radio do you have? I've never seen a radio that supports 120° CCPM that wouldn't let you reverse the direction..

Futaba T6EXHS the older one circa 1996.
I couldn't find anything in the manual that would let me switch directions but switching servo locations on the RX did the trick.
I just read through the manual again and the only swash setting aside from type is AFR but it doesn't say much about it (maybe that is it?)

OK, thanks... I was just curious. I've never played around with that radio...

My Eclipse 7 has a SWASH setting for pitch, aileron, and elevator. You can set the value for each from -100 to +100. Changing the value from positive to negative reverses the direction for that particular function. I think most newer radios work this way or similar...

Sorry, I have no idea. I have never heard of that one.

yeah well the crickets are there for a reason... i hear its a really good *starter* gyro, just hard to set up as the instructions are ridiculous... and since i havent a clue to begin with... i think im in trouble...
mostly because i cant really afford a different gyro...

one other thing to bring up... my tail control arm seems to bend or bind... when i move the stick left and right it moves very smoothly, but then when i let go or center the stick, the servo doesnt seem to pull the rotor back to a neutral position, i have to bump the stick a bit to get it to center... where the 'z' bend goes into the control arm its a little loose, sloppy even, would that cause it?

Hey Zero,
Is your gyro hooked up? The gyro will have an affect on wether the servo centers or not. In headding hold the tail servo will creep.
One thing I noticed that kept my tail from centering was the tail rod supports. You really have to fine he sweet spots for them (then glue them to the boom) so the rod doesn't bind.

well, i attempted to hover....
the tail rotor doesnt respond at all... no collective movement whatsoever, so once it got light on its skids it started to spin... not good.
raserx - i have no tail rod supports... is that something that i have to buy seperately?

also, my battery, when connected to the charger wont charge, the charger is flashing a red light, which according to the manual means the battery is damaged... i've only charged it once...

i think im going to take a break for a few days, im so frustrated right now, im ready to just go pick up a CP and be done with it.
