I have been reading these posts, and the Vendetta thread, and cannot find gear ID information.

I am trying to set up my ST for the CM4200/Mamba combo, and need a source of pinion gears of the right diameter/pitch/module(modulus) to match the stock gears. Note that the CM4200 is a 2mm shaft. I got some Associated 48Pitch, but the diameter is enough smaller to decrease the "mesh" of the gears.

Don't know what gearing I intend to use yet. My main goal is to have brushless motive power since I have gone through THREE of the stock 7500 ESC's so far after going to the 1200 mA battery packs. I purchased a range of 11-15 of the Associated gears for testing, but the overall diameter of a 13t stock and Associated 48P are different.

Rain all you want. It was $20.00, and I meant to type "CM2042". It is the 4200KV Mamba, and I am matching it to the Mamba 25A controller. With that said, what is the correct pitch/modulus gear to purchase for a 2mm shaft in a Vendetta ST?

I also have a Permax BL-400/4D to try, but I plan on testing both setups. The Permax will use the stock gears nicely, but I need the correct gears to fit a 2mm shaft for that Mamba

I already told u whete to go,,,, and ur not going to be very happy with the lil tiny mamba motor,,,,

with out knowing what gearing ur going to use,, there is no way to just give u the link to a particular gear, they may not make it,,,

the pinion needs to be a 48 pitch metric ,, I thjink its .6 module,,,

and the permax will tear every gear u have if u gear it at either 16/45 or 13/45 (stock gearing) the permax is best when geared at 19/45 or 21/45,,,,,

btw have u read this thread from the beginning,,,, reason I ask,,, what makes u think the 4200 will be able to do anything,,, it will probably be as fast as the vr3 motor,,,,,

If you notice in my posts, my MAIN reason is cost, and moving to BL vice Brushed. I am done with burning up $50.00 brushed controllers every few runs. I am not after blistering performance. I am a recreational player, and not a racer at all. If the CM2042 has performance roughly equal to the stock brushed motor, I have achieved MY goals. If I notice a difference in performance that makes the Permax a better fit for MY use, I may stick with it. Otherwise, the Permax is earmarked for my EasyGlider Electric.

check rcmart.com

I did. I am still looking, since it appears they do not have much for 48P, .6module with a 2mm shaft hole......

johnny you should look at page 1 of this thread. if the comp x is going in a vendetta st or buggy you may want to reconsider. i tried them in mine and toasted one in 4 minutes and another in 3 four minute runs. they seem to work ok in a rc18t or b but a detta is heavier and for some reason seems to need a lot more motor and battery than the associated rigs. if you cant find a pinion i saw a fellow take a pair of scissors to a pop can and cut a piece to just wrap around the shaft slightly less than one time and the detta pinion fit ok. but i would still suggest you re-think the comp x.

im still looking for threaded shocks that work with the vendetta st . anybody got some help?

I for one, DID read page one. Thank you for that information.

Now on to the question at hand......

Does ANYONE have a good source for 2mm shaft pinions that will work in the vendetta?

Atomic is the only one who makes 2mm .6mod pinions for the detta & mini quake. You can get them at thetoyz.com or rcmart.com.

With any of the mambas, you will have to gear down as much as possible. I think the stock mount allows you to go down to 11T, so start from there. Watch your temps, and maybe even toss a fan in there. Better yet, would be to trade or sell the mamba and use the cash to buy a 2.3mm or 3.2mm shaft motor (28mm diameter cans).
