this is just my take on things.. not the word of god.. just what i have experienced ,,so take it with a grain of salt.. and with the introduction of the new ST im sure many ppl will want to find a good BL motor to put in there..

testing was at socal raceway a dirt track offroad supercross style track for 10th scale electrics

the buggy is sitting on half8th buggy wheels with proline crime fighter tires
the truggy is sitting on half8th ST wheels with the tires that come stock with it.. kyosho,,3racing

MAMBA 8000kv,, first brushless i tried in the detta
pro- vry fast.. would have been great if it were a 400 can
cons- extreme heat from usage
gearing-12/49

WRAITH 7K,, second brushless once the 8000kv died
pro- just as fast as the 8000kv
cons - another extremely hot motor
gearing -12/49 made it hot but 13/49 made it smokin hot

GH4700,, third motor.. perfect fit,, loved the heat sink
pro,- fast motor not as fast as 8000kv but still fast,, cooled down really fast for the buggy
con- hot.. heat issues,, did not like the half8th ST tires on the vendetta ST
gearing- 19/45 good for buggy bad for truggy even 16/45 was bad extreme heat and not fast at all

AON4900,, fourth motor after gh4700 died,, i thought this was the ticket
pro- fast but not what i thought,, i expected great things from this motor.. it was ok.. prfferred the gh4700 over this one.
con- i idnt expect it to get as hot as it did.. and the claims of it being a torque monster , it just didnt like the gearing
gearing-19/45

GH3600,, tried this motor on the on the buggy and it was decent i was shocked ,,,
pro - decent speed for the buggy and more than decent for the truggy
gearing - 19/41 for both the buggy and truggy

AMMO 28-35-3900,,,, best thing sinced sliced bread.. this is the mamba 8000kv for the truggy,,
pro- really fast.. impressed with its speed ,, i use this motor to race with
con- gets a lil warmer than i want.. but not anywhere near the heat of the others up top,, ball diffs are needed

PERMAX 400/4D,,,, this would be the C4 for the buggy and truggy,, this thing continues to impress me
pro-can be geared for whatever track.. stays cooler than any motor i have used ,, this is extremely awesom
con- price,, and i cant get it to heat up,, have to upgrade to ball diffs
gearing -buggy 16/41,,19/45,,1941. truggy 16/41,,19/45(which im scared to try.. dont know what i will break)

One thing I would add for the Permax, that not only is it crazy fast, but it is a torque monster. I've run it at 19/45 in the ST and it's just wild. Even at 19/45, there is still room to gear it faster. I may gear it higher at some time just to see how fast the ST really gets going. Running it at 16/45 in the ST, it wheelies at 20+ MPH. Man, I love this motor.

I've done some speed runs with the stockers, those were the 19/45 runs. I've done some runs with 16/45 on 1/10th wheels that I had used for my mlst. When on the track, I've been using the stockers.

NITRO just get a great planes AMMO AND YOU WILL BE FINE,,,,, with the detta with stock wheels I would gear it at 20/41 or 21/41,,,,, that is if you are stuck usong the mamba motor

RACINGT,,
the mamba 2mm
the wraith7k I think is 2mm been a long time since I used it
the gh4700 and gh3600 have 2.3mm shafts
the ammo AND permax both have 3.2mm shafts

thanks jaejw1, where do you get the different spurs for the vendetta? do you have a part # for the 41 tooth? do you use the 3.2 pinions with the ammo? does RR make them? sorry for so many questions but need to get it fixed for next weekend. again thanks for the help!

are there any mods necessary to use the ammo other than pinion shaft dia?

rcmart.com or rcraceday.com sells the spur kit...
robinson racing makes all the metric pinions you would want to play with,, check on towerhobbies
the ammo is almost a direct drop in,, just need to cut about 3mm's off the shaft since it is a lil too long,,,

other than that all your other hopups should have been done
