Has anybody here discovered the reason that a zip-zap is tremendously slower than the micro RC by Tomy? I work in a call center and have no room for my real RC, but I have both the ZZ, and the MRc. The only thing that I have not done, is change out the circuit board to the MRc. Anyone wanna field this question?

They sell motors for the Zip Zaps that can make it go pretty fast. I don't know where to get them, but I'm sure the people at radioshack will.

They also have different gear sets to gear them higher or lower. I think the zip zaps come stock with the lowest of the 3 available gear ratios.here is a link
This wasn't in stock when I tried to get it so i got the gear set for the hobbico micro sizer and it fit.

The zip zap puts out less voltage than the bcg, and that can be easily remedied:

1. add in a second cell in series, did this with a bcg, it flies.

2. get 25% increase in power to the motor! there are two 68 ohm resistors that will be jumpered. Locate these resistors as follows: on the PCB there is a very small resistor on the very bottom right corner just below a 3 pin MOSFET (labeled Q6). Solder a jumper across this resistor. Then locate the same resistor just below Q5 and jumper it.
In summary you are jumpering the two resistors just below Q5 and Q6. Note: between Q5 and Q6 there are two resistors the one you are jumpering is the top one (the one next to Q5).

or just use hopups..

you could also do a pcb swap from micsro sizer or shen qui. by doing either mod youll be able to run the 3.8 in them with out killing the cells as quickly. zip's are cool too since you can fit 3 cells in the chassis with a lil dremmeling and raising the board a touch.
