Why,

I miss the endless mixture adjustments, changing fuel lines, changing tank location, changing engine mount location, changing glow plugs, wasted flight time, wasted tinker time, wasted airplane repair time. And especially I miss all of the endless deadsticks that my FOX .60, K&B Sportster .65 and K&B Sportster .28 gave me.

THEN

"I got an ENYA .45CX" When do I fly? Whenever I want to! A typical trip to the flying field: add fuel, glow driver starter and fly! What does my new ENYA engine do it just starts, runs and idles. When do I land? Only when I feel like it. I miss all of the deadstick practice.

Francis

you know the old saying.."you gets whats you pays for"...............
the engines in your "why" reasoning are known for being dogs right out of the gate.................
as a long time Free Flighter and having run everything from Cox to OPS.........it made me sick to even look at a Fox .60 Eagle or the K&B Sportster series.......both of which to me reminded me of early Thunder Tigers............

Boy, you guys really have me straddled over a fence with that bunch of statements.

I agree that the Enya .45CX is one of the best glow two-strokes ever made. It is a class act. I am buying my fourth as we speak - er - type.

However, while I did cuss out my wife's K&B Sportster .28 for the first ten tanks of fuel, it did turn into a really great engine. Certainly, it is no Enya .45CX, but it is acceptable.

My Fox .60 Eagle liked to drove me nuts with its extended break-in too, but it too turned into a real sweetie after two hours of bench time and 50 flights in my Kaos. It had two rings to break-in, ya know. <G>

I have lots of engines but six of them are ENYAS. If I were to get out of this hobby, everything would go except my ENYAS, just incase I ever decided to take it all up again. These engines really are timeless, they will be held as a quality standard by which others are measured for a good long time I'm sure.

I feel your pain. Missing deadsticks and not fiddling with needles can hurt.

I know ... I will swap my Other Sort of japanese .46 2 stroke effect for your dull .45 CX.

Fee free to email me to take up the offer!

If you like the 2 strokes ... you will also like the ENYA 4 strokes

I have an Eyna 45CX that must be well over 20 years old and it is dirty, looks terrible and will out run any other .45 at the field. I also have a NIB CX waiting for that special plane! Too bad they are not marketed like they should be! Oh well, others loss, our gain

All you need, Jerry, is a brief (24 hours) lazy bath in luke warm Prestone green (not environmentally friendly) antifreeze and that 20 plus year old Enya .45 CX will come out looking nearly new.

In the interim, if it is bunrt on castor oil that is making it look terrible, Dawn Power Dissolver can improve its looks a lot. No, it won't look as good as using the antifreeze bath, but it will at least get half way there. I'm beginning to run out of engines to clean up. Maybe I'll start a model engine laundry...<G>

I know you know this stuff, Jerry. I'm just using the opportunity to educate the new "Boots" on the forum.

Hi Everyone, I've become an Enya fan too. My 60-4C is particularly sweet and every trip out with it has been a real treat.

Quick question: Has anyone tried the new(er) 50CX? Seems a little heavy, but is it in the same class as the 45CX? Just got a lead and might be able to find one NIB going cheap.

For those still not aware of it, you can now buy Enyas direct from the factory by credit card.
http://enya-engine.com/index_E.htm

You can also get them from Kaz Minato in Japan. http://homepage3.nifty.com/bluemax/MNT001.html
