I'm almost 30 year old, and I've left RC for about ten years now. So, I bought a Tequila Sunrise (Global kits) at Tower, just to get involved again. Nice on a .25FX!
Now I'm trying to build the plane I always liked: the Curare. To do this, I also bought a OS .61 FX, a Macs tuned pipe & manifold and a JR XP7202 radio. You can't imagine how difficult is to get any info of this plane in my country; anyway I managed out to buy a semi-new fiberglass fuse, but that's it: that is all I got for build this high class plane, just a fuse, engine & radio gear. I need plans, and any info about it (retracts, flaps, airbrakes, throws, engine mounting...)
I know this plane is very popular, but anyway, I can't find out where to buy decent plans to build the wings, stabs, etc. Question is: do anyone know who sells original (Hanno)Curare plans?
I saw Curares back in '89-'90, the pilots were local F3A trainers, and everyone at the club were amazed abot them. Specially when two identical Curares flow in formation at full throttle at two feet above the ground, one after the other, copying patterns. Those were magical afternoons... piped FSRs screaming performance... ahhhhhh.......

im from buenos aires too, and last year I bought the plans of the curare 40, in "aero sur" , I know its a different airplane, but you can manage to make it bigger


honestly, that fuselaje doesnt look good, maybe a wooden , new and light fuselaje its the best opcion

its a very simple fuselaje to build, the foam cores can be cutted anywhere

Status: online 		I believe you can also get Curare plans at http://www.airbornemagazine.com.au/ Looks like a great project! Expect you’ll want to rip out that nose gear mount so you can go with retracts.

Status: offline 		One of the best looking CURARE's I have seen lately is the one "scratch" built from plans by Mr. Steve Byrum,
Sec/Tres of the Senior Pattern Association. It really performs nicely with the SPA patterns. I'll see if I can
attach a photo of Steve's CURARE I shot last season for the SPA Newsletter....hope the picture will "upload".
I'm sure Steve wouldn't mind sharing info with you.....his E-mail address in Cullman, AL is:

I contacted him and put myself on the list for two Curare60 Lazer Cut kits and drawings...

If you look at his "Raw List" and scroll down some you will see the 64" Curare...These are apparently the latest MAN Drawings...

His kit has a Built up wing with jig holes in the ribs...

I opted to order the Lazer Cut wood kit's over scratch building via drawings only...I have another "scratch" build project I would like to concentrate on...I just thought it would make my life easier to have lazer cut stuff right now...

It looks like he could supply Drawings Only...Or the Wood Kit also...

XCEAD, I've ask at AeroSur for the plans a couple of months ago, but I didn't wanted a .40 sized; now it's becoming an option. Inspecting the fuselage, I've realized that it is in very good shape (just with some scratches in the paint). Have in mind that it has never been flown! It just have some epoxi on the stab area, and two adhesive colour trim I can easily remove. I will sand it soon to see if I need a new balsa fuse! By the way, do you know where can I send the wings' plans to be cut in foam in Bs. As.?

8178, of course, those ugly retainers must be removed to leave space to Robart or RohmAir retracts. I still don't know what was passing through the previous owner head to put those there. Yes! http://www.airbornemagazine.com.au/ has the plans. Mmmm, 8178, don't you have the nicest Tipo I've ever seen? —Share the secrets! What about make and model of the retracts? Pull-pull linkages? Thanx!

To all of you, I know maybe the best baby for this is a Webra, but I got a new OS .61FX waiting to be used! Anyway, would any of you recommend me to change to a OS VF, a Rossi or even a Webra? Does it worth it?
I need to get the remaining hardware and gear to start the build. It will be a long-term project, and I want it to be the best I can build. So I must be patient...

Thank you for the info; I will keep you up with the news. More pics after the fuse sanding!

Status: offline 		I have an original Curare plan (from the MK kit), a new plan I drew to match available balsa sizes (i.e. no odd metric sizes), and the laser cutting file to go with it. Send me a PM if you are interested.
