The Ki-61 is one of my all time favorite planes. At the RCX show this weekend, Kyosho had a new ARF on display.

Not bad at all.
But why do they insist on using small wheels and shiny covering?!
Still, I'm glad to see they put flaps on it. And very nice gear doors

Good find Big Daddy!

zeno: a little spray of flat clear coat will take care of the shiny film.

Sweet!!!

I actually wish it were a kit I could build, but this will do.

I am thinking I may have a new warbird racer before the year is up.

I wonder how much beefing up will be needed for a YS 1.10.

Domo aregato Kyosho.

What are the specs to this model? And the suggested retail price?

The Ki-61 has been one of my favorites for a long time too.

The span is about 55" if my guess is right? (1405mm = 55.314)

Where can you get Kyosho airplanes here in the U.S.? Do you have to deal direct with Kyosho America?
The Ki-61 doesn't show up on that site yet.

I wish they would have done it in the "Wave Mirror" scheme...but perhaps with some careful airbrush work and some silver paint?

I'm guessing, but I imagine your lhs could order it for you. Eventually, it should be up on the Kyosho America shopatron site.

The landing gear doors are the first I've seen in an ARF this size. Very impressive!

Good Looking plane - the canopy looks a little wrong, but otherwise not too bad. I wonder what the asking price wil be.

Well,

I just looked at the Kyosho P-40 in RC Country Hobbies in Sacramento.

If the P-40 is any indication of the KI-61s quality, then the Tony will make a good candidate for beefing up for a warbird racer IMO.
And the price of the P-40 was fair IMO at $150.00 US.

I hope they get that Tony out soon.

MSRP on the Kyosho Japan site is 31,500 Yen. That is $265 USD.

Just a bit off on the profile, not nit-picking but it looks a bit swollen compared to the real deal. Canopy is way off. This is also one of my favorite Japanese fighters, maybe some of our more true to scale manufacturers will do this one justice. KMP, you looking? Maybe if they had added the cockpit bracing it would look better?
