New release: Hyperion EOS1210i charger with A123 support and EOSLBA10-A 6S balancer with A123 support that can be used together or separately.

Hello A123 (M1) cell enthusiasts,

Fast Charging is now here for up to 180W on 2S to 12S packs using the EOS1210i directly and when adding the EOSLBA10-A 6S balancer a 2S to 6S pack is done.

EJF started using A123 cells almost 2 years ago on some special projects and then once a public release was made we tested them on one of our popular jets. So what took us so long to join in? the one area that was trailing until now with this new offering we have been patiently waiting for is fast charging more than 3 cells. As everyone knows A123 has a 3S charger that works great however in our case and others we need 4S and above for proper performance.

We spent the weekend running some real world tests that I would like to share. We tested the balancer by itself with our Chameleon and it worked great. We then tested the A123 packs and two of our 4S and 6S packs along with combining the charger and balancer. All tests performed as advertised and described in each manual. We didn't try dual balancer and as I mentioned we are really only interested in fast charging and that arrangement limits the output current.

During these tests we noticed that once 99% was reached the charge current would lower at small increments until 100% was achieved so by adjusting the TCS feature (Terminal Capacity Selection) EP (Estimated Capacity) in the menu - several minutes of time can be saved not waiting for a very small amount of current to be put in. when doing this on our 4S-1P we went from the 19:53 down to 15:45

Bottom line is we like them and couldn't wait to run them and tell everyone. We have these in stock at www.ejf.com and so will the other outlets as distribution gets in gear. We are so glad to see this big step forward for safety and Power. Alright A123 it's time for more capacity and those other cells.

I don't think it will charge a 12s1p a123 pack at 10 amps.
